Reviews doesn't feel that enthusiastic but it still starts off at 100% (7 reviews, 8.4 AVG rating) on RT and 83 on Metacritic. Maybe it's more of a response in comparison to her previous films - which were best of the decade stuff.
Still, I think it has a great shot at a BP nod on subject matter alone. And the reviews appear good enough to get in regardless.

It looks solid and of course in Bigelow I trust . But damn, still trying to take Will Poulter seriously . Don't get me wrong, he isn't terrible or anything (I quite liked him in The Revenant). Its just that he looks like a little kid playing dress up in Detroit.

Bigelow's getting a nomination? Who are front runners for directing as of now? Nolan, PTA, Bigelow, Spielberg and? Considering how acclaimed "Call Me By Your Name" and "The Florida Project" are, I'd say Luca Guadagnino and Sean Baker are certainly in the contention.

Good. I still expect it to fare the way Zero Dark Thirty did.

Casting brits saves money, plus most of the overall major roles were played by unknown American actors.

Sounds promising. I could see it getting a best picture nom, but no directing nom for Bigelow though.

Yeah i understand but just reminds me of someone on here being annoyed by every actor being considered for George Washington being English. But then again Rami Malek is playing Freddie Mercury so balances I guess as well. Oh I agree it's annoying, but Hollywood refuses to discover young talent as much as they used to, and if they do they usually want to drag some random English actor from a TV show over to play certain characters or something, so it what it is.
