It looks really great but anyone saying this looks better than Frances Ha is committing an egregious crime

Can't stand Gerwig and the trailer looks like everything I don't like about her presence distilled into a visual and narrative style, but I'll watch Saoirse in anything, so I'm torn.

It looks good, but man is Ronan's accent ROUGH. Did she bypass the dialect training or something?
Anyways, elated that Laurie Metcalfe is back on the big screen.

Allegedly the trailer undersells the movie, based on reports from critics who've seen it. Hopefully that's the case. The trailer is funny, but I don't really see the difference between what we saw in it versus Edge of Seventeen or any other coming of age movie (spunky girl fights with her mother a lot, has awkward sex, exc), sans Saoirse Ronan being a great actress who can enhance any kind of material.

Edge of 17 is one of the best Hollywood teen comedies of the century tho.

Can't take these stereotypes seriously. Just reeks of young girl philosophy on a soft indie playlist. When they talked about "writers live here..." and has the word "sex" used in a spicy tone and in those terms, I know what type of movie this will be. And....... Greta Gerwig.... I won't hold my breath, because lots of writers and directors deserve the funding she gets for fairly passable films. Not a bad accent on Saoirse is about the nicest thing I can say.
