I've really made a 180 on Gerwig recently, so color me excited.
And of course, my lovely Irish lass is always a plus.

Yeah, that's a prime date. I'm trying to reserve my excitement a little because it's Greta's first outing running the show, so we don't truly know if it will deliver, but Fuck It it's Saoirse's first film in two years I'm way to excited for this.

In all seriousness, if A24 is confident it should show up at the Globes and maybe some Critics awards since it's showing at some premiere festivals.

Sure, it will not be a BP material probably but so far it sounds good enough to get Best Actress and Screenplay noms. It seems like a role totally opposite of "Brooklyn" which hopefully AMPAS will take notice. We also know that Ronan can do comedy really well (she's terrific in that Amy Heckerling/Michelle Pfeiffer film). I'm confident in Gerwig as she was involved enough in the creative process of her acclaimed collaborations with Baumbach and Swanberg. I think she'll pull it off.

At first I literally sighed and went, "another fucking LBJ movie..."
But then I clicked the link.

Gerwig sucks. Although my girl Ronan is great, no actor can overcome a shitty script. And Gerwig writes the world's shittiest.

And looking at Baumbach's filmography, I'm realizing that I've only seen two movies. Both of them are atrocious, but I was very erroneous in the statement I made. I apologize.

I assumed that Gerwig had written Greenberg and While We're Young. Those experiences make me gun shy about visiting Baumbach again, though. Edit: Oh, Baumbach wrote Fantastic Mr. Fox as well. Ewwwww.

I guess the reason you get Baumbach and Gerwig mixed up is because Gerwig is a hack.

Trailer looks a lot better than I was expecting, given much Gerwig grates me as an actress and writer and find Ronan really quite overrated. This doesn't look original, fresh or needed at all, all very been-there-done-that but it does like quite sincere, authentic and the cast looks great. I was gonna avoid this like the plague but now I'm interested.

This looks quite great. The cast looks fantastic. This feels a lot sharper than Frances Ha (only thing I've seen that Gerwig has written). I don't know I'm on board with this, clearly. Saoirse Ronan

Looks great. Love the Ronan/Hedges/Chalamet trio, and Metcalf looks fantastic.

Kinda looks like every other indie coming-of-age movie ever made, but Ronan looks great and I think it has potential to be more than the sum of its parts.
