What do you believe has the better chance of getting nominated for best picture? The reviews are there, but Wonder Woman definitely has the money behind it. Then again it's rated PG-13 so there was always a greater chance it would be the bigger moneymaker. Logan uses the western genre which might appeal to the Academy, but the western genre only appealed to them when it became a rarity which is still kind of is nowadays. WW may speak to a lot of female voters the way many of the other superhero pictures didn't. Jackman and Stewart have the history, but after the whole "It's as good as TDK" talk, it seems like Wonder Woman has taken all the buzz. I don't think either will make it in at the end of the day, but which one would be more likely? I'd actually say WW.

Logan is just so far and above Wonder Woman it would be so unfair if WW got any nominations above it. I liked WW but Logan is another level. Fox should re-release Logan in Award season, their release date and general decision making continue to baffle and annoy me.

I agree with harlequinade that Logan is better in every respect

Wonder Woman. I feel Logan's narrative has been usurped and the oxygen sucked out of the room in favor of Wonder Woman, and I suspect the latter film to pull a Deadpool and get a PGA nomination. I also think that while Logan is a better film, it isn't by much, and Jenkins's direction is stronger than Mangold's.

I really don't think either will be able to sustain their buzz once the bigger contenders roll out, especially since the Academy will have other tech-heavy options to choose from that are more up their alley, like Blade Runner 2049 and Dunkirk, but between the two, I give the slight edge to Logan. Yeah, Wonder Woman did better financially and has the gender angle to it, but I feel like Mangold's film would probably be taken slightly more seriously, given its themes and overall tone. Wonder Woman will probably get the same treatment as the MCU's better-reviewed projects, since it feels so close to that.
Again, though, I definitely wouldn't count on either of them.

Watching the first half of Logan: "Woah, Jackman would be a really deserving nominee." Watching the second half of Logan: "Woah, Jackman would be one of the best Best Actor winners of the decade."

Watching the first half of Logan: "Woah, Jackman would be a really deserving nominee." Watching the second half of Logan: "Woah, Jackman would be one of the best Best Actor winners of the decade." His work in the 2nd half where he's doing more sleeping and resting is where he really gives his best work as the character and I think he would be a deserving and inspired nominee. That whole "Now I keep the bullet to......well............I was thinking about shooting myself with it...like Charles said." Or the "And it is better this way...cause I suck at this. Bad shit happens to the people I care about. Understand me?" But if he does get nominated this year it will be probably for the most obvious one though Logan could serve as nice back up.

Although both are superhero films they couldn't be more different.
I think Wonder Woman will have a bigger impact at the Oscars especially for the techs.
