So I've put on a few pounds in the past two months or so (in a good way) and I've had to get rid of (read: donate) a whole shitload of clothes. Naturally, this puts me in a bit of a disadvantage because one generally needs to be clothed to be accepted by the public and to be served in fast food establishments, of which I frequent regularly.
Of course, I stumble upon a Reddit post that is promoting a Levi's sale (one of my favorite brands, I will only ever wear Levi's jeans) that had any item ending in .90, .97, or .98 for an additional 40% off their already marked down price. But as much as I love them, Levi's doesn't exactly have anything beyond casual clothes (or at least in my mind). So that leaves sweaters, nicer button downs, a suit, and assorted other clothes I need outside of jeans, t-shirts, and casual button downs that I need to replace now.
"Aha!", I think as I Google "men's closet essentials on a budget"! That'll get me what I need to get.
WRONG!
First link I click on is from GQ and the first thing listed was a $2200 jacket. Nope, nope, nope... not having any of that bullshit.
Anyone have any good blog/site/recs that would be useful to a near-pauper like myself? (I use Amazon for like 95% of all non-food shopping, but the way the site's interface works with clothes is hammer to the head frustrating... "hey I'll list this thing at the low price of $11.99... but once you put in your size option, guess what?! IT'S NOT $45.99 MWAHAHAHAH!) I'm hoping to stock up on Fall stuff before the new Fall line comes out and prices go up.
I suppose this could also be used for other people who need reccs too.

I think you need to go to the mall. I hate the god damn mall! Me too!! But I think it will be easier for you to go there instead of searching online for hours. Wander around there for an hour or two, get some ideas and if you see anything for a good price pick it up.

Sorry I don't know much about men's clothing, so I would agree with Viced's advice that you should probably go to the mall. I just wanted to add that I find Amazon frustrating when shopping for clothes as well. Earlier this year I was trying to find new clothes for my mother, and I thought I had found some bargains, but then when I would click on a different color then the one featured, the price would jump up, and I was like wtf?!? Oh I just remembered I also looked at eBay when trying to find her some inexpensive t-shirts, so I guess that might be an option too. I think for clothes though especially since you're buying a new wardrobe in a different size, maybe it's best to go to actual stores first to get a better idea of what works and what doesn't.

I'm one of those people that throws the shirt up in front of their chest and go, "hmm... close enough".

Spoken like a true Canadian. I bet you even got married at the mall! lol. I loathe malls. I don't keep up with trends or anything either, so I'll be of no help.
