Hard to pick between There Will Be Blood and The Master. Elswit's work on the former is some of the most beautiful of all time, but he had the advantage of gorgeous landscapes and visually stimulating set-pieces to work with that Malaimare did not. On The Master, Malaimare simply took the 1950s aesthetic and turned the post-WWII America setting into a visually hypnotizing world that is so unique all on its own. I'll go with The Master, but both are probably top ten of all-time.

A rumble to the death between TWBB and The Master but I'll go with Elswit for now. Special mention to PDL.

There Will Be Blood has the best filmed sequence of all time (the derrick fire), and its Oscar win is my favorite cinematography prize ever, but The Master takes it by the slightest of hairs.
