Both of them were great, and this has got to be one of the best chick flicks I've seen. But Collette is the queen (would have loved to see her get an Oscar nod).

Both are on their game here, but there's just something effortlessly raw about Diaz's turn that gives her the edge. She keeps the viewer invested in her character's selfish and misguided decisions.

What about Big Shirl?! Good performance for sure but completely overshadowed by both Collette and Diaz .

Perhaps it's just that I have the bar automatically set higher for Coney Toilette, than for Damn, Ron Key As, but from the moment I saw this film I was immediately far more taken with Diaz's work in it, where as I thought Collette was kind of cruising through it fairly uninterestingly. Some might say Collette's autopilot is still better than Diaz giving it her all, but those people would be haters, and haters are dumb.
