The upcoming Godzilla sequel has gotten an official synopsis, with filming on the project now formally underway. Michael Dougherty (Krampus) is directing the film from a script by himself and his frequent writing partner Zach Shields. screenrant.com/godzilla-2-plot-synopsis-monsters-filming/

So Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah, curious to see what they'll look like especially with all that CGI. Disappointed they aren't introducing them in their own films, but hey that's to be expected.

Why pack all 3 of them into 1 movie?

I could be mistaken, but this makes it seem like they're taking the wrong lessons from why a lot of people didn't like Godzilla. They seem to think that people simply didn't like it because the monsters were on screen for so little time. Okay, that was an issue, but that was minor compared to the boring, detached, lifeless human characters, that was the real crux of that movie's issues.
This feels like their way of saying "You want monsters? Fine, you got them." But that'll do jack if the humans are just as bad, if not worse this time.

Hopefully this time Godzilla won't be absent for 50% of the film, and for the love of god don't bring back ATJ's expressionless face.
I was hyped for the 2014 film based on the kickass marketing, but I won't be seeing the sequel unless it gets very strong reviews. First film was a huge waste of time, spectacular visuals aside.

Kong Skull Island is awesome, so hopefully Godzilla 2 does what it should have the first time.
