On principle, I'm against that sort of thing but I do understand the thinking behind it. There are people quick to sell anything a celebrity touches on eBay and for certain celebrities many members of their fan base may be of a particularly, uh, troubling sort so they want to make sure that if they go through the trouble of it that it'll at least be worth their while. $200 is pretty steep, though.

For the record, As a Movie Star, I want to state that I don't support this.
Oh honeys, let me tell you; only the other day there was a terrible car accident outside my apartment and when a crowd formed I rushed out and made sure that everyone could have selfies with me, including the injured driver and half dead passengers, as well the very friendly team of paramedics (some of them were quite touchy and didn't believe my breasts were real! )... As a Movie Star, I feel it's our duty to spread a little happiness and brighten peoples lives and its all good publicity for me anyway. I really don't mind signing autographs for everybody... even if they are too shy to ask for them. I'm always walking into peoples photographs... Don't thank me, it's how I am. Being a Movie Star is a vocation. Not everyone can do it...
I'm sorry to say that sadly the driver and passengers later died as they didn't get to the hospital in time.
So it's a good thing I wasn't charging them or else they may have wanted a refund!

If the fans are dumb enough to spend their money on it... good for him. I completely understand why celebrities wouldn't want to interact with fans in public, and I guess what he's doing is a little better than that, so whatever...

The thread title had me under the impression that he was charging random people he met on the street, which would be really tacky (although he'd be perfectly within his rights to just turn them down). No issues with him doing it at an official convention appearance, though. If you don't like it, don't pay to do it, you have no entitlement to a picture with someone.

Yeah, I thought it was fans on the street, haha. There's usually a price tag for pictures at conventions, though $200 seems crazy to me. To each their own.

Misleading title is misleading, but yeah I think I'll pass. Too expensive for me.

Not unusual for a convention but I definitely would not pay that. I think Chris Evans and Tom Hiddleston have had higher prices. I knew older stars like Adam West and whatnot charged for their autograph at conventions as a way to make money, but I didn't realize current stars do this as well. I also didn't know they charged so much. Mikediastavrone96 makes a great point though that unfortunately a lot of the "fans" that want autographs turn around and sell them on eBay right away, so I agree with other posters that if people want to spend that much, I don't have a problem at all with celebrities charging for their autographs. I just can't believe someone would pay that much for a celebrity's autograph, but then I remember my various phases like my Harry Potter phase or Farmville phase, so I probably shouldn't throw stones at what other people spend their money on.

I'd just sign:
To Sally, This is a forgery. <3 Chris Hemsworth

I wouldn't even pay that for Gena Rowlands, let alone Thor who already makes millions of dollars. But I also have no desire to meet celebrities and I'll never understand the clamoring for autographs either. It's a damn signature. It does nothing for me.

Unless he was blowing me in the photo, then that seems a little pricey.
