Thought I would post this for anyone who reads the site regularly. Here you can find information on the site's financial troubles and the information required to donate some money towards keeping them afloat: www.patreon.com/slant

Used to be a big fan of Ed Gonzalez and Nick Schager's reviews but not anymore. I still read some of Chuck Bowens reviews, he is one of the most insightful in the business but apart from him, I don't really find that too much value in other critics within the site.
They are not as good as they used to be. I pretty much prefer reading other movie sites that have got better throughout the years.

Honestly I've lost interest in Slant over the years. Not surprised to see them struggling.

also this is honestly heartbreaking, slant isn't the best site for criticism nor the only one that's so ahead of the curve, but goddamn it's a pretty great one at that. would hate to see it go.

Kenji Fujishima was one of the good ones. Not sure if he's still there, though.
Good riddance to Clayton Dillard.

Yeah it feels bad man. Reverse Shot and Cinema Scope are still my preferred sources but Slant is dope af and they are a valued voice that knows when to go against the mainstream tide of anodyne criticism. I signed up to be a patron but sadly I'm poor so the monthly amount I'm giving them is hardly anything. When these places start dying we're just losing voices of sources that are going against the grain.
