Obviously a huge cash grab and both are going to make serious bank, but does anyone seriously think McGregor stands a chance? If McGregor doesn't get a knockout within the first three rounds, it's over since he'll be winded which will allow Mayweather to dance all over him.

It's like strapping Kobe in football gear. Sure, he's a great athlete but he's in a whole different realm here.
I honestly doubt this will even be a fun highlight reel to watch, let alone the whole fight.

Typical Mayweather fight: tons of hullabaloo about a fight he should easily win just by dancing around waiting for the bell. I know he's undefeated and all and that has some inherent intrigue, but I'll never get why someone as boring as Mayweather is hyped up so much.

I feel like the novelty of this fight has already worn off... and we're less than two months away!
Honestly, the conversation with my friends lasted all of five minutes with the conclusions that 1) after buying the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight, we're never buying another Mayweather hype match and 2) the only way for McGregor to win is if he gets a super lucky connection that sends Mayweather to the mat. The chances of that happening? Very, very slim. The only thing that McGregor has in his corner (besides age being on his side) is that he MIGHT be able to throw some combinations that come at awkward angles that boxers usually don't encounter. I wouldn't count on it in the slightest...

 You can always tell when a poll is being voted on by people who don't know anything about the sport... 1) the 3% who voted McGregor to win a decision are the most absolute outta-their-minds bonkers out of all of them, 2) Mayweather has had a whopping total of 9 KOs/corner stoppages since 2000 so he's not doing that, and 3) as I said earlier, the only way McGregor wins is by some freak of nature combo that manages to connect in the exact right spot to send Mayweather to the turf. But that's really not a 21% chance. |

I can't stand either one of them (but at least McGregor fights are actually entertaining to watch), so I only watched whatever highlights they were showing on ESPN... of which they said Mayweather had the biggest shot because he said something to the effect of "you're pretty good for a 7 figure fighter but I'm a 9 figure fighter..." Yeah. Because that 9 figure bout was one of the worst hype fights of all time AND it happened almost 10 years after it should have originally taken place. Both are absolute jokes in press conferences. Also, side tidbit... I read that Mayweather spends $1000 on a haircut. $1000 THREE TIMES A WEEK!!! And he has a fucking shaved head to boot! lol. |

I wish they would be talking more about the Alvarez/Golovkin rematch that's coming up soon since a) it's a match that actually matters and b) it's not only the top two middleweights, but they are both top ten pound-for-pound fighters in the world. Should be a great fight.

3rd was McGregor again, though Mayweather had a better showing. 4th was close, but I'd give it to Mayweather. 5th was Mayweather again to me, it seems like he's just getting started while McGregor is starting to look a little fatigued.

6th and 7th easily go to Mayweather, who looked to be telling the truth when he said he was looking for a knockout with how aggressive he was. 8th round had McGregor coming back to life and being the aggressor once again, he took that round.
