nothing more relatable than JD Vance making terrible awkward small talk at a donut shop. I feel represented.

Allow me to change the direction of this thread. This is from Gerald Ford (38th President of the United States) making a prediction about how a woman will become President. He made this prediction in 1989.

No one is clicking on this, much less putting in the effort to plug it into Google translate because they don’t read Italian…

No one is clicking on this, much less putting in the effort to plug it into Google translate because they don’t read Italian… I actually did. It’s a misogynistic hit piece, essentially asserting that she slept her way to the top. But the funniest thing to me is that the author says she’s good looking.

The author is blind, but wrong on other counts too. Nobody will ever question Kamala Harris about anything. And Trump is too stupid to take her down.

Actually they say she was good looking at 29. I was interested in the second half of the article, where it talks about her politics. Economy (it's more American citizens business, not foreigners), and her vision about Ukraine and Middle East. Still lacking her politics towards commerce (for instance, does she want to put customs duty on the goods coming from Europe or China?).

Florida is a legitimate contender to go blue now, as Trump’s lead has shrunk (and the Villages - normally a red area - having rallies in support of her). I would be thrilled for one, but that would also be a death knell for Trump. He loses Florida, he loses the election.

I would be thrilled for one, but that would also be a death knell for Trump. He loses Florida, he loses the election. His lead there has shrunk, but it's still pretty firmly blue. I'd guess we're probably another term away from Florida being back to a true battleground state (and another after that from Texas potentially being in play). Right now I'd say the best chance for Democrats to flip a state that went for Trump in 2020 would be North Carolina.

This race is really going to come down to Pa isn't it? I can almost guarantee when we go to bed on Election night we won't have a winner.......

This race is really going to come down to Pa isn't it? I can almost guarantee when we go to bed on Election night we won't have a winner....... I hope you understand that saying -- "comes down to PA" -- actually means and its fallacy.
Penn has gone with the presidential winner for the last four election cycles. Only three times since 1952, Penn has not picked the actually winner of the election. They did not go for Nixon in 1968 and George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004.
We used to say "it comes down to Ohio and Florida", but when Trump won both those states in 2020, then the mentality switched to, "it's Pennsylvania."
A better and more accurate saying would be that, whoever wins the most swing states, wins the election.
So what they are really saying is, "If Harris/Trump wins Penn, then the majority of swing states will follow suit".
Penn typically favors the Democratic candidate. Trump was the first Republican to win PA since George H.W Bush in 1988.
The big thing to look out for is how well these candidates perform in states which traditionally lean in the opposite color. So for this election, it's Harris in North Carolina, Georgia, and Arizona. For Trump, it is about Wisconsin, Michigan, and Penn.
BTW - Nevada has actually been more accurate than Penn in election winners. They have only missed three times since 1904.

I would be thrilled for one, but that would also be a death knell for Trump. He loses Florida, he loses the election. Even though it is a statistical tie (5% margin of error), the momentum is in favor of Harris. She is out raising Trump in both fundraising and crowd size. There is even more troubling signs with Florida being back into the swing state column. This is a state with two Republican Senators and a Republican Governor who won big in 2022. Abortion and the anti-woke stuff has backfired on the MAGA world.

Yes, I just meant we will be waiting on Pa results to put either candidate over 270 electoral votes - all the swing states matter, of course.................. I don't think this is an electoral landslide as has been said will happen in this thread.........certainly it won't "come down" to my state or yours I have family who lives in Pa - and spend a lot of time there - Fontaines DC on Oct 20th bitches in Philly ........ I consider myself a de facto Philaelphian in many ways...............just meaning I am highly irritable........... usually lose at sports............and eat a lot of cheesesteaks

So no landslide. But I will say, if Trump continues to slide in the polls -- Florida and Texas are now in play for the Democrats -- she has the potential to hit Obama numbers.

Most people are exhausted. Has there ever been a time where people cut of family members and friends over a candidate? It's just too much chaos at this point. I'm legit sick of him and his bully tactics. I hope people have enough sense to put country over policy..This should be about protecting democracy not some "promised" tax cut.

He is probably the most accurate WH predictor out there.

You know the fact that all he has are these has-beens and the hillbillies at his rallies bothers him more than anything else. He would LOVE to be accepted by the elites in Hollywood.
