Tommen_Saperstein I'm not a Pixies guy. I always thought if you put Nirvana, Sonic Youth, and Beastie Boys in a blender along with Pixies.... the one ingredient that isn't gonna taste as awesome as the others is.... Pixies. But still, this wouldn't be my favorite track off of Doolittle or Surfer Rosa anyways. Gigantic is where it's at. Still, better than Wonderwall. 7 Bowie is probably next. 8/10, good song. Where is My Mind and Gigantic would be 10/10 songs from the Pixies.
Life on Mars would be a good one to do for Bowie.

10The 3 great bands that emerged after the Holy Trinity REM / Mats / Husker Du - I mean Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth (who had existed earlier but peaked later) - were all a bit lesser as album bands .....and the reason for that is US Indie went (and usually always goes) from saying something to just saying something a lot like what was said before ...........still all 3 of those bands made some great albums .........and NONE of the other 5 bands ^ could have conceived of the Pixies very best songs.........which were just weird in the best ways: They could combine fringe artistic movements within Pop culture templates (uh, football chants etc) with, um, songs not even performed in English ffs.........The Pixies only made 2 truly classic albums imo (Surfer Rosa and Doolittle) .......but that was quite a 1-2 punch and.......... Doolittle - their peak - has several 10s on it all by itself......I mean side 1 is like ALL 10s

this song fucking rules. One of the best openers ever. Short and sweet with punchy energy and catchy guitar hook, but its Francis's lyrics and unhinged vocals take it that next level. GOT ME A MOVIE AAAHAAHAAHOO

Abrasive vocals like this have their place for me, but I tend to prefer them in smaller doses throughout a given song. I get a bit bored from it about a minute into this, so I’d like it better if there was more modulation in the vocal style.
