Hit Man is a romantic black comedy from Richard Linklater. This is his 21st directorial effort and 16th screenplay. He's been nominated for 5 Oscars - 2 for writing the Before series, 3 for writing, directing, and producing Boyhood.
The critical response has been quite good: 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, 7.0/10 IMDB user score, and an 85/100 Critics Choice Association rating. There seems to be a lot of praise for Glen Powell's performance.
Will the Academy embrace Hit Man?

No, Globe nod for Powell is its peak. Netflix would've released last year or later this year, if they planned on making this an awards pony.

Could see it in my top ten since the year looks pretty barren, but no way. Stuff this poppy only gets nominated if there's some kind of "topical" angle. Should get some "musical/comedy" globe noms though.

Powell is probably a shoe-in for the Globe... and maybe... maybe an outside shot for screenplay.
