And, do the names you like have any connections to the movies?  I love Gabriel for a boy and Charlotte for a girl. I tend to think of Heath Ledger's character in The Patriot with Gabriel and Scarlett Johansson's character in Lost in Translation with Charlotte.   And of course there's La Légende  ...   What are your choices? |

I am named after my father, and to this day I am dumbfounded by the enormous amount of narcissism one would need to name a child after yourself. It boggles my mind.
I would want to name my children after people I admire. I don't admire people though. I despise them. That leaves me at a rather tough place. I could go for fictional characters, but naming my kids "Samwise" or "Yunalesca" is an open invitation for them to be picked on.

I'm named after my father too, but I'm not sure it was out of narcissism so much as it was just my mom wanting to name me after him. Don't really know if it was something he eventually relented on, or was initially supportive of, neutral, or ambivalent about at all though.  I'd have to ask. |

I'm really loving the name Zoë recently... Primarily because of Zoë Isabella Kravitz... So pretty!!! Zoë Charlotte would be pretty!  I also love Tristan for a boy.  JangoB - Do you like the name Tatiana? That was my favorite girl's name for the longest time. It's so delicately pretty - it recalls lace to me. Plus I love its sumptuous connections to Imperial Russia. |

Although what it celebrates is not the name but the end of winter exams for university students  |

I know this is going to come as a huge shock to everyone, but... I quite like the name Gia. The name obviously makes a strong impression via the ill-fated supermodel Gia Marie Carangi, who was given her unusual name by her father who had first heard it while traveling in Italy. cherry68There's also Gia Coppola, daughter of Giancarlo, the first grandchild of the Coppola clan!
