Along with Lionel Messi one of the two (by far) greatest footballers I've seen in my lifetime. (too young for Maradona)
And now he is also a great coach, who has already made history with Real.

I can name a lot I'd put before Zidane as players. I'm a bit too young for Sivori, but I still remember Pelè. And even in more recent years, Zidane isn't in my top ten (not saying he wasn't great though). |

From what I've seen from videos and documentations though, Pele certainly deserves his spot as footballs greatest player. Your last sentence is a bit ridiculous though. Ronaldinho was the only player in the last 20 years to be on the level of Zidane and Messi, but for a much shorter time than the two others. I should add: Offensive players though. Always tough to compare Messi or Zidane with the likes of Maldini and Nesta. |

Yes, Zidane was a classical 10. Playmaker. But he played a bit more offensive than Pirlo for example (especially the Pirlo in his earlier years). I love Pirlo, gorgeous player to watch, but to me he is not on the same level as Zidane. I also have Xavi above Pirlo. |
