Along with Lionel Messi one of the two (by far) greatest footballers I've seen in my lifetime. (too young for Maradona) And now he is also a great coach, who has already made history with Real.

I can name a lot I'd put before Zidane as players. I'm a bit too young for Sivori, but I still remember Pelè. And even in more recent years, Zidane isn't in my top ten (not saying he wasn't great though).

From what I've seen from videos and documentations though, Pele certainly deserves his spot as footballs greatest player. Your last sentence is a bit ridiculous though. Ronaldinho was the only player in the last 20 years to be on the level of Zidane and Messi, but for a much shorter time than the two others. I should add: Offensive players though. Always tough to compare Messi or Zidane with the likes of Maldini and Nesta.

Yes, Zidane was a classical 10. Playmaker. But he played a bit more offensive than Pirlo for example (especially the Pirlo in his earlier years). I love Pirlo, gorgeous player to watch, but to me he is not on the same level as Zidane. I also have Xavi above Pirlo.
