Another Pro Baller, former NBA Champion Kyle Kuzma, backing Angel Reese, saying she's a "beast" and people are just "hating.
I think Caitlin Clark probably has the edge to win Rookie Of The Year as it's a Media voted accolade, and Clark is the media darling. But I honestly think Clark's insane Stan-Base have miscalculated, because this over-the-top online hate campaign against Reese is attracting nothing but scorn from Pros and people who really know basketball. Ultimately, the utter stupidity of a hate campaign against a Rookie that is breaking all-time records may backfire and gather her more support among those in the media who vote forthe award. I think it'll be much more of a nailbiter than current Vegas odds suggest, and wouldn't be surprised if either of them win it.

Happening already, as I said. Media starting to go out of their way now to debunk online hate myths surrounding Reese's game. The campaign against her is too OTT for most reasonable people and those who aren't CC stans and will backfire. They are actually helping Reese in the ROTY race now . From Rebecca Lobos on ESPN:

Reese is probably going to break the all-time WNBA rebounding record within the next two games. Everyone knows it....which is why there is this desperate rush to discredit her before it happens, with this bogus concern over FG percentage (a stat I've rarely ever heard discussed in depth till Reese).
Never seen anything like it. Like political campaign to ensure Clark wins Rookie Of The Year at all costs. If people truly had faith that Clark was so far ahead of Reese in the race, we wouldn't be getting this daily onslaught of anti- Reese propaganda, just as she's on the verge of destroying an all-time record. It really shows a lack of confidence and faith that Clark can win without this type of smear campaign aimed at her main rival.

Well almost ALL the top turnover leaders in basketball are GOAT tier........ those who shoot 39% at the rim .....not so much....... Rank Player TOV 1. Lebron James 5211 2. Russell Westbrook 4587 3. Karl Malone* 4524 4. John Stockton* 4244 5. Kobe Bryant* 4010 6. Jason Kidd* 4003 7. James Harden 3919 8. Moses Malone* 3804 9. Isiah Thomas* 3682 10. Hakeem Olajuwon 3667

None of those players averaged nearly 6 turnovers per game like Clark does. If they did, they'd all be liabilities to their teams at some points.
LeBron averages 3.5 turnovers per game, which is within an effective margin for a ball dominant player.
Russell Westbrook is on the high side, and his career turnover average at 3.9 is still far lower than Clark
Kobe averaged a smooth 3.0 turnovers per game
John Stockton averaged 2.8 turnovers per game.
Isiah Thomas averaged 3.8 turnovers per game
James Harden averaged 3.7 turnovers per game.
Moses Malone averaged 3.1 turnovers per game.
Hakeem Olajuwon averaged 3.0 turnovers per game.
Career Turnovers of NBA Pros is a misleading stat when you relate it to Clark. Of course every ball dominant player is going to have turnovers, and they will rack up a lot over the course of a career but it needs to be kept to a certain average per game before it becomes a liability to their team. None of these players averaged over 4 turnovers per game in their careers. Most were closer to 3. And these were all ball dominant players.
Clark is closer to 6. Way too high by any measure. It's a major, major issue with her game and will always cost her againt better teams and in Championship games (which she has yet to win one). She needs to get her average closer to 3 to stop it being a major weakness in her game.

Just disagree and don't think this is close because Reese doesn't score enough or that Clark's TO cost her in the RoTY award........

On a different note: Ok, let's say MVP & RotY are settled for Wilson and Clark - who are the 5 All WNBA 1st team end of year: The top 5 MVP contenders maybe: Wilson, Stewart, Collier, Ionescu, Clark ?

Clark is not a Top 5 MVP contender (outside of Vegas odds, which I already explained were a popularity contest) . Clark fans come across as deluded casuals when they push this stuff. They barely know any other players. Arike Ogunbowale leads the league in Steals, is 2nd in 3 pointers made (Clark is 5th and that's supposed to be her thing), 3rd in Points per game, 7th in Assists per game. In most overall categories, she's ahead of Clark, and is in the top 10 in 4 categories. She is easily ahead in the MVP race over Clark on statistical merit.

Clark is not a Top 5 MVP contender Ok, we'll see where she finishes up - save the post, k? All WNBA 1st team predx? Again.... popularity contest. Clark is very popular in Media circles, and I recognise that it's unfortunately a Media voted award ( when it should really be a Player voted award). So I guess there's a possibility that she gets some votes from slobbering media fanboys like Dan Patrick and Colin Cowherd. But would she deserve it on merit over someone less popular in Media circles like Ogunbowale? Not in my opinion. Save it all you like. I know enough WNBA players to know that Clark shouldn't be in the top 5 MVP conversation. Whether she gets in there due to popularity is another thing entirely.

Clark is not a Top 5 MVP contender Ok, we'll see where she finishes up - save the post, k? All WNBA 1st team predx? Stewart Wilson Thomas Clark Collier First 2 are WNBA royalty, they're locked. Next Im not confident in. Clark and Collier are locked because Collier averages a double double, and Clark is at 17.9 PPG and 8.3 APG Only one I'm not sure about is Thomas. I think Reese has a chance to break in due to her rebounding, but i dunno how the WNBA does it. By position? Or 5 best players? Keep in mind, I haven't seen a game all year and havent followed women's basketball since 2020. 2016-2020 was my peak.

Caitln Clark twisted her ankle tonight......sat out a bit.....couldn't walk for a bit and was used as a decoy.........generated 15 points total in the first half........so 2 than more in a hurt half than Angel Reese did all game w/ her 20+ rebounds yesterdayPretty funny

errr... ok. Anyways, I'm rooting for Clark and the Indiana Fever tonight, because the Atlanta Dream are breathing down the neck of the Chicago Sky for the 8th play-off spot. The more games the Dream lose, the better the chances of the Sky and Angel Reese getting that play-off spot. So Go Fever. Get those points Caitlin. Do it for Angel
