Isabelle Huppert about to be filled with the spirit of Lucrecia Martel. If that ever happens, then she is the Joker. Honestly, give me the movie where Joker infiltrates the real-life Gotham Awards thinking he can trap Batman, only to wind up heading the jury.

The pitch to Lady Gaga was basically to sing some songs. She has no character, which is too bad because she’s by far the best in the cast (or perhaps the only good one?).

Not remotely surprised by how bad Joker 2 is. It has Razzies written all over it from day 1.

how’s the score & soundtrack for queer? About the soundtrack I’ll just say this: I’ve been thinking about the scene where Starkey appears for the first time for two days straight.

It's a well-known fact that Razzies of piling on polarising films that were originally projected to be Oscar hopefuls. Mother! and Blonde both received mixed reviews too and Blonde even won Worst Picture. This probably wouldn't win big over Madame Web, but it could very well score a bunch of nominations, esp. when you have someone who always runs a cringe-ass campaign like Lady Gaga.

I really really liked Stranger Eyes, the Taiwanese thriller. I think it might have struck a chord with this particular jury.

So after all this, Wil, have any of your winner predix changed? I usually have a sense of what’s winning the awards, at least some of them, but I’m finding it very difficult this year with this jury. For all the talk that’s been made of The Brutalist leading the race, I have a feeling it’s not as done a deal as many people think. I actually think, of the most talked about movies, Queer is the one the jury might agree upon. That said, I don’t expect either to win the Lion. I’m expecting a few bug curveballs. There are still two movies left to screen, but if I had to make a prediction now… Golden Lion: Vermiglio Grand Jury Prize: The Brutalist Special Jury Prize: April Best Director: Stranger Eyes Best Actor: Daniel Craig, Queer Best Actress: Fernanda Torres, I’m Still Here Best Screenplay: Babygirl But I’ll be wrong on so many of these, this year I truly have no clue lol

pacinoyes ‘M - The son of the century’ is getting rave reviews in Italy Definitely a must see not merely for the great lead actor - at his peak it seems (?) - but also because with what is happenng in the world politcally you can make it particularly relevant too. TylerDeneuve would be excited by the piece I'm guessing - subject matter (apparent) scope and historical gravity..........Taviani-esque maybe? Can't wait to see it tbh

Never heard of this before, sounds like it is right up my alley. Gonna see if the library has it. Edit: Nope. Gonna buy it from Amazon and hope for the best

I found Love, the Norwegian film, to be kind of a stunner to be honest. I wouldn’t be surprised by a Screenplay award.
