Of these performances, which is your personal favorite? It's Jude Law in The Talented Mr. Ripley for me, which is one of the greatest performances of all time to my mind. I truly love all of these, though, with the obvious exception of Zellweger.

Why was Paltrow snubbed for Talented Mr Ripley?
The only great performance in a Minghella except Dafoe in The English Patient.
KST. Shes good, maybe I'll give her a slight nod in supporting. the rest arent even worth my time

1. Binoche 2. Law (Ripley) 3. Fiennes 4. Law (CM) 5. KST 6. Zellweger (and I like her!) Always been appalled that Damon wasn't nominated for Ripley. On paper everything looked good for a nomination there - the project, the role, Damon's recent Good Will Hunting success, the performance. I know the year's Best Actor category was packed... but still.

Law in Ripley, but if PSH had been nominated he'd have been my vote.

Gonna take a wild guess and say that the people who are saying this is Jude Law's best performance have never seen his work in The Wisdom of Crocodiles.
Going with Binoche.

I'm generally no Damon fan, but he should also be an option for his stellar turn in TTMR. Law still >> him, though.
EDIT: Ooops, didn't see it was limited to Oscar-nominated perfs. 1999 was such an absurdly stacked year it makes sense why Damon missed.
