RIP to a great actor, Oscar winner for An Officer And A Gentleman, but also a key performer in major projects such as Roots, for which he also won an Emmy. He was still doing major work in his 80's, such as his Emmy nominated performance in Watchmen.

RIP, a fine actor ...... I may be so old I remember him from Good Times and as a big name pre-Oscar even as Thelma's age inappropriate boyfriend AND then later as Florida's brother....... but if I am that old I won't admit it

RIP to Mr. Gossett Jr! Along with the incredible work people here have already mentioned, in a way he was a trailblazer in his own right, becoming the first Black actor to win in the Best Supporting Actor category at the Oscars. Also was part of the original production of A Raisin in the Sun back in 1959, along with several other stage credits to his name. Had a great career. Go easy legend!

RIP.... He was always good, in lots of movies and tv movies nobody talks about like The Laughing Policeman etc. But his first starring role at 35y/o.... Skin Game (1971) he's really amazing - it's a clever, movie star performance.

I love that movie...used to mention it a bit in the IMDB days..........THAT movie would never get made today because it would seem "offensive" - think THAT poster woul fly in 2024? - which of course is inherent in the premise...........it actually says more about race than all the nicey-nice "diverse" movies we get nowadays......... I say remake it right nowwith Gosling and Kaluuya cowards

First I'm seeing this. Undeniable as an actor. Always great. Mom will be devastated. RIP.
