This film may make Martin Stett 's head explode A shockingly offensive film to religious people, atheist mothers (all mothrs) Left Wingers, Right Wingers, men, priests - Nunsploitation film history, murderous types - kills what - 3? pro-choice, nuns in general, anti-abortionists, body autonomy extremists........ everything and everyoneRips off Godfather 2 and Spoorloos before the opeening credits - later will get to Rosemary's Baby, The Descent, mother!, THe Omen and many more without the common (in)decency to show Sydney Sweeny topless ffs (does show her her shirtless puking up a tooth though.......... ) The male villain in this piece - a poor man's Javier Bardem (he wishes) deserves credit for keeping a straight face. This film starts with sexist men commenting in Italian - how "hot" Sweeney is ("A nun" - what a waste - they say) - and they are the nicest guys in the movie.........genuinely hideous in its misandry and icky in plot Almost 80% on RT - it is one of the worst films of the MAR era - Antebellum, Women Talking level nails on chalkboard shit.......I had a great time - and my gf may now become a lesbian because anti-men and what not......partucularly hilarious when Sweeney holds a scream for 171 hours that makes Marilyn Burns sound like she was gently whimpering in TCM (1974) Somebody get her a towel ffs:

Watched it before release since I was tasked with translating it for the consumption of Russian audiences... where it's called "The Omen: Immaculate" btw It's garbage. Ugly-looking, empty-headed, second-hand garbage. The "A24 horror" brand is already iffy enough but now we have to deal with rip-offs of that? What the heck? Oh yeah, but Sydney Sweeney screams good.

Have no idea why anyone would think Mother! was worth ripping off Anyway, still vaguely curious about this and might see it at some point if I've got nothing to do one night. The beginning of the trailer always looks sort of cool and has a a "spooky gothic nun movie" feel to it like Black Narcissus but then the jump scares and loud noises start coming in.

The title refers to her bodacious set of ta-tas, right?

Are you daring me, Pac? I still have to watch The Flash after losing a bet, don't make do this too Like I said - no boob shot in a film with Sydney Sweeney - but she pukes at least twice - once in a heaving bra /white panties - they were so close yann?..........that is all so offensive to boob shots in Nun movies and my Holy Scepter (um) it is a crime against God ...........now I don't want to see your head explode buddy - but it would fit ....may God have mercy on our souls Amen Just as it is in the Book of Revelation!
* 1 vibrator joke told by a nun to a nun .........classic * 1 child saved by God on a frozen lake - Ok, sure..........but.........FOR THIS MOVIE * 1 scene of a nun saying Fuck You in front of priests and the Mother Superior * 1 bloody animal carcass under a bed which is not their natural habitat btw * 1 baby skull bashed in with a rock by a nun who couldn't klll a live chicken earlier - wtf! * 1 martinstett head explosion

Hilarious how up in arms some people are getting on social media for this movie when it's one of the tamest nunsploitation movies ever. Persecution complex and what not.
That'd be my main criticism of it: it's just too tame. It never surprises or really takes a swing. If you've seen the trailer, you walk in with a strong idea of what's going down, and it proceeds exactly as you'd expect. The middle act drags a bit as a result, spinning its wheels as we get through the expected beats until the third act where things of consequence happen. Sweeney does a solid job carrying all of it (never saw Euphoria or The White Lotus so nice to see her be good for once) and while the film's meekness prevents it from being something more, that doesn't mean I dislike it. It plays it safe, but doesn't fumble in doing so.
Little idea where the misandry idea in your OP is coming from, though. Seems as myopic reading to me as only seeing The Wicker Man (a better movie than this) through the lens of misogyny and fears of how the "sexual revolution" would affect the West. There are only 2 characters who are outright good in the whole movie anyway; what, did one of them need to be a man?

Of course not but hey if I did I'd just be like those - Leftists, no doubt - who do watch movies "with a checklist of good female representation" and call themselves feminists or some such nonsense ........."good male representation" in THIS particular film would have helped the plot machinations though that's all......it's quite a hateful little piece of trash ........to males and females........all I'm saying......ymmv

Persecution complex and what not. this is what I've heard and it's super lame, but I do enjoy the cheeky marketing (no doubt inspired by how A24 marketed The Witch). Nunsploitation needs an actual comeback and women in prison too.

I eventually watched this. It's fine, but disappointingly minor relative to the outrageous hype and barely registers as nunsploitation at all. It flirts with some queasy (and timely) themes re: loss of bodily autonomy and forced pregnancy mixed with that good old Catholic ultraviolence (branding, tongue-cutting, all the classics) that might've been truly disturbing if not for the absurdity of the plot. The whole manufactured Messiah angle with the DNA samples and the mustachioed evil scientist-priest completely undermines the horror and prevents the thing from ever truly shocking. The last scene was... something else! I actually like that they went that far, but... the whole thing is simply too Dan Brown to be scary or provocative. And poorly lit. Jesus, what is it with contemporary movies and filming all your action at night in dark rooms. I did "watch" this, but I only saw 70% of it.

There should be a remake of every movie reshaped for Katy O'Brian in the lead role.
