I guess I'm late to the party, but... this shit is so funny to me. Please forgive my ignorance, but... Do the academics know they are being punk'd? Are there outtakes? This is my favorite one, by far: I also particularly love these two...

I think they caught on in later ones - at times - though not all and try to stay in "character"......this is one of the great comic pieces of acting of the MAR era ........ Diane Morgan is so marvelously dry, she's practically dust.........her portrayal....portrayal isn't even right, it's "creation" is one of the great things of recent years..........from the way she handles dialog......her posture, her faux investigative skills, her manner..... everything about that is like Basil Fawlty level comic acting ......

I mean... the way he answers her questions without missing a single beat. I'm guessing they really have gotten questions this stupid from some of their students in the past? The American guy is definitely in on it, right? I mean with his "bears have arms" bit? I genuinely can't tell with the others... I suppose that's all part of the brilliance of the show.

I think some of them do get the gist of the bit after a while and others remain confused throughout. The beauty of the thing is that they all play along and it all leads to utter hilarity. All I know is that I'm desperate to meet her mate Paul

Do the academics know they are being punk'd? Per YouTube user @cliffcannon: "Diane Morgan explained in several interviews that the experts don't know any of the questions in advance, but they all know that it's a satirical/absurdist comedy programme—and their job is to play it straight for as long as they can. There are outtakes of the experts breaking down in laughter...and Diane too, sometimes."pacinoyes JangoB
