No, but really, I don't remember the last time I was going "Fuck yeah" throughout the whole ceremony. Miyazaki getting his second Oscar (OMG), Poor Things beating pink paint and taking PD+CD, all of Oppy's wins (especially the sight of Spielberg presenting Nolan with BD), Godzilla Minus One winning VFX, EMMA STONE. What a bunch. Can't wait to see how the Academy fucks it all up next year Were you the guy in front of me at my local cinema? Guy was recording his reactions and cheering Nolan on like he was at his favourite football star. I'd never record my reactions, I'm not 16!

Also, I know some people complained when it was announced, but having the former winners do the nominees rules. We got to have Nic Cage praise Paul Giamatti!

I believe this is the third time Scorsese’s had a film go 0/10 Yep, it's a nice little family of Gangs of New York, The Irishman and now KOTFM. Quite a unique statistic! Scorsese films are 0/26 going back to Hugo

Yeah, I much prefer it over out-of-context clips. If we can't have kickass montages, then give me Tim Robbins reading a teleprompter to a bored Robert De Niro or Christoph Waltz angling for a role as Ken's dad in Barbie 2.

I think at this point Scorsese needs to make another film with Jack Nicholson hamming it up for 2 hours. He’ll sweep.

Also, I know some people complained when it was announced, but having the former winners do the nominees rules. We got to have Nic Cage praise Paul Giamatti! I still don't like the former winners doing all the acting nominees thing ( I also disliked it in 2007 or whenever they did it last). It's just a bit too self-congratulatory. Do we need to hear each individual acting nominee told now wonderful and talented they are, just so we get more celebrities on camera? And to do it at the expense of showing clips of the performances is almost unforgivable, imho. The audience watching should get to see a clip of all the performances and maybe it'll entice them to go watch some of the ones they haven't seen. People aren't going to be enticed to see Colman Domingo in Rustin just because Forrest Whitaker says what a good guy he is. Show a clip of the man's performance goddamnint!

As funny as it was, I feel like Barbenheimer was a HUGE boon to both movies. We will never see lightning in a bottle like this again. True, no wonder Blunt/Gosling bit was the best of the night and only one actually funny.

Yeah, this was an okay ceremony. Glazer's GOATED speech was the highlight for me. And honestly, the only real important moment of the night.

My only real complaint is we didn't get to see Wes Anderson give a speech. He would have been funny, or twee, or both

Al Pacino is trending now. He's getting lightly roasted for how he presented Best Picture ( he skipped mentioning the other nominees).

I still miss the clips, but I have to admit I didn't mind this as much this time around and thought it was a lot less cringe than the last time they did it. Seemed more genuine and heartfelt overall.

I think it was prepared, just like when Tom Hanks announced The Hurt Locker without going through the other nominees. It's not like he skipped a montage. It's just the way he did it was confusing.

DElightful as always, this is why paciNo iZ thE goat unLike certain other frauds Very subtle, attack-bot . Like, I said on another thread, it's always the same couple of people. I've got the list . I just reported what was being said in the press and on social media. Blame the Daily Mail and Twitter You can hold the gunfire and GOAT war nonsense for later. I actually felt bad watching Al up on the stage like that. It's the first time I've seen him really seem old. Like retirement home old. He's always seemed very sharp and youthful, despite his advanced years. Makes me glad he's gonna get his dream of doing a King Lear film made this year before he may no longer be in a position to do it, physically or mentally. He used to be my favorite actor when I was younger, and he's one of the best to ever do it.

This is pretty disgraceful! How do you miss these people out.
(Edit: Apparently, they were all on the big list of names at the end. But the likes of Treat Williams and Lance Reddick were significant enough as film actors to be part of the photo/video montage. Williams for Prince Of The City alone, and Reddick was a key character in one of the most popular action movie franchises of this century, John Wick).
