-Maybe Claire Foy? She seems very ambitious.
-Anya Taylor Joy? She received a lot of praise for Split, and her profile is certainly raised a lot by that film and it's sequel(s).
-Katherine Waterston? It seems she's been attached to several high profile projects for several years now, so that's definitely a plus because there's at least more of a chance of a "welcome to the club" nomination which could lead to several other nominations in a short amount of time for Waterston.
-Emily Blunt? She seems like she's been on the verge of breaking through for awhile, and she could be similar to Adams in that she was older when she finally brokethrough, but then perhaps receives multiple nominations when she finally does.
-Rebecca Hall? Similar to Blunt in that it seems like she's been poised to breakthrough but hasn't yet, but if she ever does, she could pick up multiple nominations once she finally does breakthrough.
-Kristen Stewart? Not as ambitious as Adams, but already becoming an auteur favorite like Adams.
-Riley Keough? Pundits and entertainment reporters are probably just slobbering to themselves at all the stories that they could write if Keough's star was to ascend as high as someone like Amy Adams'. Could you imagine the hype of The King's granddaughter being nominated for an Oscar?
-Dakota Johnson? Yes, she did The Shades of Gray trilogy, but Adams did Cruel Intentions 2.
-Elizabeth Olsen? Didn't breakthrough with Marth Marcy May Marlene, but Wind River has been getting good reviews, and she raised her profile with Marvel and Godzilla.
-Shailene Woodley? She's another one that I expected would already have her first nomination, but then the Divergent movies seemed to derail that for awhile. She's still young though, and doing Big Little Lies was a good start in getting back on track.
-Mia Wasikowska? It seems she's been hyped forever too, and eventually the hype could turn into multiple Oscar nominations.

No MEW is never happening or breaking out Why? She's had so many opportunities and none have really panned out perfectly to elevate her to that status

Who was the former?
Well Amy received her first Oscar nom as an unknown pretty early in her career… so Rooney Mara?

Had Blunt gotten in for Prada and/or The Young Victoria, she would've been the clear bet.
Since that didn't happen, I'd bet on Stone if she didn't win for LLL.
Since she did, it has to be The Roons.
Mighta said Saroise, and the reason may sound stupid AF, but people consider it a win for themselves even pronouncing her name right, so cannot really see her being the ultimate mainstream go-to-for-everything actress Adams is, sorry to say, but that's hollywood for ya.
Unless she leads a Cameron flick, ofc.

As others have said, I could definitely see Saoirse Ronan racking up a bunch of nominations in her 30's. She has the sweet and likable persona that AA does too.

I mean, you could argue that Jennifer Lawrence has surpassed Adams at this point, no?
Anyway, I support the Saoirse Ronan mentions.

Being 15. Adams is 16 years older than her, after all.
I was talking strictly about awards. She's easily ahead of Adams in that arena, though it's yet to be seen if she can keep up the pace and maintain the same consistency that Adams has for the last 10 years.
Now, if you're including roles, projects and filmmakers, then you're right, Adams wins hands down. By far one of the strongest filmographies in the industry at the moment.
