PTA had the second-most votes in the last poll (after Scorsese).

Excluding Scorsese, I'm going to go with Villeneuve. Acclaimed director of massive projects and works fairly frequently that DiCap's never worked with. Lanthimos is an option too but he has a few projects lined up already and none of them seem like they'd have roles for DiCap.

I still have a feeling he's going to show up in QT's last as Rick Dalton.

Maybe he should work with a female director for once.

Unless the Jesus film takes Scorsese too long, i would say that DiCap's next project after this one he's shooting is The Wager with Scorsese.
If not something new with a filmmaker he never worked with, Chazelle, Fincher, and Miller are the first three who come to my mind.
Tarantino is out of the game, since he will retire after The Movie Critic.
I would love for it to happen, but as of now there won't be a collaboration with Villeneuve, since there's not a part for LDC in Cleopatra, and right now he is too deep in working into the sci-fi territory, his next projects he's mulling indicate that (Dune Messiah, Rendezvous with Rama, etc..) and i'm not sure it's a genre DiCap is interested in embarking into since there are not meaty, awards-worthy parts, in fact he hasn't done it since Inception.
I don't even exclude a reunion with Spielberg, but not in the near future.
The Wager is the most realistic answer.
*(BTW you missed to add in this list filmmakers of the caliber of Alfonso Cuaron and Bong Joon-Ho).
