--- NOTE --- This poll is about the nominating stage, as in: what would the BP lineup look like under the old 5-movie system. Just to avoid confusion.
The 2013 results are in and can be seen above. The movie that caused the most doubts was Dallas Buyers Club. The one that got closest to the five was The Wolf of Wall Street.
And now for 2012!

So I'm thinking:
- Argo - Life of Pi - Lincoln - Les Misérables - Silver Linings Playbook
I'm iffiest on Les Mis but it did really well that season, even getting in DGA and ASC when the direction and the cinematography were quite widely criticized. Plus it was a big hit. Just seems like a big emotionally sweeping mainstream pick that could unite most of AMPAS and get into the five. Zero Dark Thirty was going strong throughout the season too but I think the controversy kind of sank it. Django was probably close too but Les Mis seems like a more universal pick.

Another tough one where I feel like while Argo, Lincoln, and Pi would be secure, any two of Django, SLP, and ZD30 (and even, who knows, Les Mis) could claw into the remaining spots. Only Beast would be out of contention. I went with SLP and ZD30 tho' I'm not sure at all.

I think Django's last-minute surge knocks out Les Mis, but yeah, the other four seem safe as houses.

Argo Life of Pi Lincoln Les Misérables Silver Linings Playbook
Les Mis is the shakiest, but it seemed to be a higher priority to get out there ahead of the season over Django (which ultimately gained more steam post-noms to get to its wins) and did very strong with guilds indicating more broad industry support. Zero Dark Thirty was the strong critical favorite but idk about the passion it had in the Academy and its late release and heavy subject matter prevented it from being broadly seen enough to garner more noms. I kinda wouldn't be surprised if Amour was heavily in the mix with its overperformance in nominations, but it didn't show up strongly enough throughout the season for me to really go there.

- Argo - Life of Pi - Lincoln - Les Misérables - Silver Linings Playbook These were my predicted five, as well. Also, a request!: Could you make the poll results invisible during voting? I don't want to feel influenced by what everyone else is picking!

I don't want to feel influenced by what everyone else is picking! I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that. Can't change the format with only a few rounds to go. Just choose with your heart!
