Having only seen it the once, I slightly favour Giamatti between the two, but they're both incredibly good and my opinion could reverse on rewatch.

I was amazed at how well Sessa embodied the 70s - his performance felt like I was watching cinéma vérité captured in that era.

It'll be interesting to see where he goes from here.

Sessa was very natural, but Giamatti. Cillian > Giamatti though.

Giamatti, but Sessa is also terrific and one of the many bad acting snubs this year. Hope he gets a breakout.

Sessa. He surprised in and outshone his co-stars in nearly every beat his character was supposed to land.
