I'm thinking of a lot of things but not a lot that's "haha" funny. Phoenix in Napoleon, Schwartzman in Asteroid City, Portman in May December, Dylan Gelula in Dream Scenario, Cumberbatch in Henry Sugar if shorts count. American Fiction is the funniest movie of the year but it's more for the bit parts and the situations in general, Wright is a total straight man.
So I'll go with Chris Tucker in Air as my official vote. Not a big part but his "black people don't jog" scene got some of the biggest laughs I've heard in a real theater in a while.
