And let's go ahead and remove Tom Cruise from the equation because it's a good answer, but increasingly unlikely as he gets bogged down in his own projects.

Jake Gyllenhaal
He's kinda been on a very commercial run of projects since Velvet Buzzsaw didn't really hit the mark, and people are starting to forget that serious auteurs used to love him. It's been like 5 years now. I mean, he did a Michael Bay film recently. Adam Driver is getting all the offers that probably used to go to him.
Doing a Nolan project would be good for him, in terms of getting into more prestige projects again ( and I do believe it's been a deliberate choice by Gyllenhaal to move away from prestige or indie projects. I feel like got snubbed by the Oscars one too many times for things like Nightcrawler and Stronger and just said fuck it, I'm just going to go on a run of films that entertain audiences and pay me well. It's actually quite surprising he's only got the one Oscar nomination for Brokeback Mountain).
Tom Holland as well, who despite being a star, needs the "serious actor" cred, being a major part of a Nolan project would confer. Hence why he's off to do Romeo And Juliet on stage.
Will Smith.. .help people move on from the fallout of the slap debacle and constantly being emasculated publically by his wife, if he's leading a Nolan film. Will just put him back in focus as a star and actor for audiences and the industry. I think Nolan may have rejected the studio suggestion to cast Smith for Inception though, so he may not be a fan of Smith. Or the style of acting Smith employs in a lot of his tentpole/blockbuster projectsm

I'd love for him to re-unite with Rebecca Hall, and give her a proper juicy role.
I'm always surprised that he hasn't worked with at least one of Gyllenhaal, Gosling, Driver or Fassbender yet

So many really ..... Jonathan Majors could use some help......Kevin Spacey........Armie Hammer When is the last time anybody gave af about Idris Elba who btw has totally missed his big time window so I guess in that way I gave af about him ......oh.......Melissa Barrera.......um A serious answer would be Keoghan who surprisngly hasn't been mentioned and is one Nolan away from world domination

Amy Adams. She’s already done something very much in Nolan’s territory and done it better, but she definitely could use a hit

I guess I'll go with pacinoyes..... and say Melissa Barrera too. Just I dunno.... it just feels like it makes sense.
You can even switch out Marion Cotillard in both Inception and The Dark Knight Rises with another hot Hispanic chick and it feels like the same thing, so there's no need to go all-white next time.
But you're seeing the power of Nolan. Florence Pugh is now a sex icon, maybe she already was one.... but it's hard to deny at this point.
Emily Blunt got her first nomination.

Amy Adams. She has been on a downhill since Sharp Objects and shows no sign of getting up any time soon.

Honestly Guy Pearce could use a reunion with Nolan. He's been making a lot of bargain bin trash lately. Joseph Gordon-Levitt could also use another Nolan outing - his career hasn't been all that interesting lately either.
Edward Norton could use a Nolan role for sure.

Cruise is already on top of the world, don't think he needs a "bump". With Amy Adams it would probably just be someone's dead wife or another supporting role so IDK how much that would help her. She needs someone like PTA to write a great lead role for her.
Agree with Edward Norton, especially if he went out of left field and made him the lead (I don't really think Nolan needs big draws at this point). A lead role for Matt Damon would be cool too.

he definitely doesn't need it, but Steven Yeun. He's got such a cool and getting-cooler body of work but epic action flick isn't something he's really done yet. Get him with Nolan (or Villenueve who's better IMO) and make it happen.
