for a movie thats 2 hours and 40 minutes long, so THICC and dense with things it wants to show me, it never left me with anything being said. The longest tiktok fan cam ive ever seen. and Tom Hanks was there too doing that thing he did for some reason 4/10

Hilarious, insane, and entertaining as hell first hour. But unfortunately, Baz gets fired after that and Dexter Fletcher takes over the rest of the movie.
5/10

5.5Not merely lesser than Sofia Coppola's Priscilla.....but lesser as a movie than things that aren't even movies at all - like the Andrew Savage song Elvis In The Army or a double cheeseburger....... There is nothing Rock and Roll about it.........much less King of Rock and Roll about it.......There is also nothing great in it either........ The portrayal of Elvis is like a copy of a copy of an Elvis Impersonator - compare this to Jonathan Rhys Meyers performance......and that wasn't great either.....in many ways the Barbie of its year made by people who misunderstand America, Pop Culture phenomena and the intersection of Art with commerce........ “When The Legend Becomes Fact, Print The Legend Bullshit

5. I said it elsewhere but its biggest failing is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. Does it want to be the story of how this Christmas-obsessed freak corrupted this rising talent? Does it want to be a plain-jane biopic about an American icon? The elements are all there for it to go hard one way or the other, but it straddles the line and satisfies neither ambition.

7.
A movie that is very much about celebrating the mythology of Elvis and using that as a way to either blame his faults on Colonel Parker or smooth right past them. But as a mythmaking tale and sensory experience, this is the most consistently I've ever been on Baz's wavelength and Butler does a terrific job with landing the larger-than-life persona while still connecting it to something resembling humanity. Also, I know Hanks gets some shit from people but this is to my mind the funniest he's been in years.
I do prefer Priscilla but I find them exceedingly interesting as companion films.

A standard music biopic interpreted as a cray-cray fever dream. Good stuff.

8/10. Butler is good and Baz hits it out of the park visually as always.

3.5. It was a chore to finish. Hanks should’ve won a Razzie.
