This Sunday is the 81st annual Golden Globes. This is the first-time since 1982 the Globes will be on CBS rather than NBC. Comedian Jo Koy will host the show.

Special Statistical Note - The 21st century has been quite kind to Scorsese at the Globes. He's won 3 Best Director trophies to 2 losses. Both of his losses were to previous winners for Best Director at the Globes. Eastwood won for Bird & Unforgiven. Mendes won for American Beauty. People here may believe Nolan will win the Critics Choice, DGA, and the the Oscar, but the Globes could be a different story.

SSN - Critic Circle awards champion is The Holdovers, and that didn't get nominated here. Barbie, Killers, Oppy, Poor Things, and Past Lives have roughly won the same number of screenplay awards. They tend to go with the veteran screenwriter (They love Tarantino & Sorkin) or the films written and directed by the same person. Their last 7 winners were written and directed by the same person.
