I like a lot of these pairings but not having Gladstone in this (especially with no one from Killers represented) seems weird. Maybe she turned it down? Happy for Ehrenreich 2023 but I think Gladstone/Randolph would've been more interesting, maybe.
If they don't mention Aloha at least once, curse them.

If they don't mention Aloha at least once, curse them. They should just greet each other like that and never mention it again.

Guess they couldn't resist Murphy and Robbie together A lot of these are former co stars though, I like it better when it's people we've never seen together or weird pairings you wouldn't think to put together.

the way Ruffalo describes the rehearsal process for Poor Things (at around 13 minutes) makes Yorgos sound like such a fun director to work with. 10 days of theater games where they barely touched on the script, and then the secret first day of shooting that everyone thought would just be a screen test. Truly an actor's director, and the consistently great acting in his movies speaks for itself. I remember back when Sacred Deer dropped people were calling him Wes Anderson's evil twin but he probes for the humanity and depth in his bizarro stories & characters more deeply than Anderson. In a WA film the characters like the set dressing are just props in service of a whimsical vision where the outfits sometimes contribute more to that vision than the people wearing them. Asteroid City tells a really beautiful and human story without a single great performance IMO, but every Lanthimos movie since The Lobster has contained at least one great performance and often more than one.

ugh Cillian and Margot are so gorgeous
that was my favorite convo followed by Ruffalo and RDJ who's just really eloquent and thoughtful and easy to listen to. The Stone/Cooper matchup was pretty awkward lol, but that's totally how I'm pronouncing "Maestro" from now on.
today's matchup

we're falling behind! forgot to post this one which was just delightful. They talk a lot about Nolan, how sexy Hathaway was in Eileen, and read quotes from Devil Wears Prada at the end. Good vibes.

so far the Avengers one has been the best Is the Devil/Prada one any good? It is, especially if you like "The Devil Wears Prada".

so far the Avengers one has been the best Is the Devil/Prada one any good? Personally I couldn’t finish it. Anne Hathaway’s energy is just too much I’m sorry. Murphy and Robbie is the only one I find watchable so far, probably because Murphy’s voice is quite easy to listen to.

Was it RDJ's smugness the turnoff in the Avengers matchup? To me their friendship did genuinely come off with some amazing reveals from Ruffalo's side so I really liked it Yes, the Brabenhiemer one was nice enough.

The Stone/Cooper matchup was pretty awkward lol, but that's totally how I'm pronouncing "Maestro" from now on. lol, why awkward? I loved their talk, it's so much fun to watch Cooper be as serious as he can and Stone just not having any of it and taking the piss out of him, but in a totally friendly way. Her sense of humor is my kind of jam, and it's hilarious to see her playfully ribbing a buddy of hers who probably used to be less self-serious back in the day but wants to be seen as a big artiste now (which I don't begrudge, btw) while she remains just as funny despite all the accolades. Her trolling him for closing his eyes when he speaks was laugh-out-loud funny to me

Her trolling him for closing his eyes when he speaks was laugh-out-loud funny to me I just felt they were clashing so much and stepping on each other, and being funny when the other person was being serious and vice versa. I'm sure they love each other and it didn't bother them but it freaked out my socially anxious brain haha
