Ted Lasso leads the pack with 8 nominations, followed by Barry and The Bear with 6 a piece. Abbott Elementary landed 5 nominations, but none in the writing and directing categories. Ted Lasso, Barry, and The Bear are the only shows with acting, directing, and writing nominations. The previous winners were The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in 2018, and Ted Lasso in 2021 and 2022.
Since 2015, all of the Best Comedy Series winners were nominated for acting, directing and writing. The most nominated Comedy has won 7 out of the last 8 years. Fleabag only scored 6 nominations in 2019 and ended up beating 9-time nominee Barry and 7-time nominee Maisel.
If we look at the precursor awards this year, we had Abbott winning the Globe, Critics Choice, and SAG Ensemble. The Bear won PGA, SAG Best Actor, WGA, and ACE awards. Barry Season 4 and Ted Lasso Season 3 are eligible for next year's Globes, Critics Choice, and Guild awards.
