Btw, just so you know, I won't be utilising the poll function that this forum has until much later in the season so we'll have to type out answers for now.
Thanks! Honourable mentions okay but please make your choice clear.

Best Actor: Denzel Washington, Inner City - All the players involved really want this out by the end of this year, so I think that the momentum that Washington had last year in being runnerup and directing himself to Best Actor and Best Picture nominations will carry over to this year. Plus, it seems very baity and totally different from what he's done previously.
I know Gary Oldman is respected in a lot of circles, and he's also playing a very well known political figure, but I think he could still face backlash either in front of the scenes or behind the scenes for his previous behavior. There's the Spielberg feud, but there's also the ugliness of him being accused of beating his ex wife. The incident was over 15 years ago, but in the Twitter age, it has the potential to derail his chances of winning.
Best Actress: Meryl Streep, The Post - I feel like The Post could be a Best Picture winner or very close considering how relevant it could be, and Streep could be very dangerous if she's actually in a Best Picture nominee let alone a Best Picture winner. Plus unless a newcomer surprises which is definitely possible, Streep's main competition right now seems like previous winners Judi Dench and Kate Winslet, and while I was high on both of them before, I just think if Streep's main competition are previous winners and Streep is in a Best Picture winning or even just in a top 5 Best Picture nominee, it will be too hard to resist awarding her her fourth because everyone knows that it's inevitable that she'll win four perhaps even win 5.
The only thing I doubt is I'm not sure I could see AMPAS awarding Washington his third and Streep her fourth on the same night.
Best Supporting Actor: Michael Stuhlbarg, Call Me By Your Name - I really don't have any idea in the supporting categories right now. I think that Steve Buscemi could potentially have a great year with Lean on Pete and The Death of Stalin, but he couldn't make it for Ghost World despite multiple critics mentions. Plus, he could be more in the Stanley Tucci mode where voters feel that a nomination is reward enough. Right now I'll go with Stuhlbarg because I could see Call Me By Your Name winning something big.
Best Supporting Actress: Andrea Riseborough, The Death of Stalin - Melissa Leo or even Michelle Pfeiffer probably make more sense, but this category still feels up in the air especially after Wonderstruck did not go over as well as many people expected at Cannes. Riseborough just seems like she could have a great year in multiple projects, and while not as young as a Vikander or Nyong'o when they won, she still looks fairly young, and the trend in this category seems to be either "young, hot" actress winning or veteran character actress. Leo would make sense as the veteran character actress that wins except I'm not sure voters want to award her twice. It's definitely possible, but with Streep and potentially Washington and even maybe Dustin Hoffman contending to win in lead, I could see voters wanting to go a different direction in Best Supporting Actress.
Further since I'm really big on The Death of Stalin for Best Picture right now, I think that it could follow a similar trajectory as Moonlight and 12 Years a Slave where it wins a supporting award, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Picture but isn't flashy enough to win Best Director.

Hugh Jackman, The Greatest Showman Meryl Streep, The Post Michael Stuhlbarg, Call Me by Your Name Michelle Williams, The Greatest Showman
Streep is just a placeholder; all the other contenders have bigger strikes against them, so I'm keeping her here for now even though I'm fully expecting someone else to build more buzz later down the road (maybe someone we're low on at the moment). And Greatest Showman most likely won't be big enough to net two acting trophies, but Jackson and Williams happen to be the ones I think make the most sense in their respective categories, so I'll vote for them this month anyway even if I'm not terribly confident that they'd win together. Coincidentally, my second picks in their categories are also two actors from the same film (Oldman and Scott Thomas).

Pick a supporting actor, Ray. Mulligan in Mudbound or Wildlife? You have to be specific.

Thanks. I'll assume the other Mulligan votes are Mudbound unless they say otherwise.

I thought Mulligan was supporting in Mudbound, no? And since Netflix is handling that, I'm low on her chances in both categories.
Wildlife is a better bet, but that's Dano's first foray into directing, and is it gonna be a showy enough part for her to go all the way and win?
