No. I wish people just stop overrating Jessica Chastain, she's dull.

Why, when we have Rebecca Ferguson in the world?

This makes pretty much no sense, but I still like Chastain as an actress. I guess we'll see.

Granted, Williams is my favorite actress and I'd call her performance in that film one of her weakest - just doesn't play to her strengths. Whereas I can see Bergman and Chastain sharing a lot of commonalities in their performing, even if they virtually look nothing alike. Still think that they should have capitalized on Rebecca Ferguson's rising star power, she is literally the spitting image of Bergman and has the chops to boot. P.S. Love the avatar.

she and her Freckle Films has joined YRF Entertainment to produce it.
Oh honey, in other words it's a vanity project. I love Jess but she's so totally wrong for this. Is anyone else seeing this?

I agree with Rebecca Ferguson. I could also see Vikander as Bergman. The ideal would have been a younger Isabella Rosselini( ) or a younger Nastassja Kinski. Nowadays , I would have cast the grossly underrated Alexandra Maria Lara :

But yeah, maybe down the road they'll pull a Marilyn Monroe and make ten other biopics about Bergman with all of these choices and we'll see who plays her best.

Jessica looks nothing like Ingrid. Nothing. I would rather see an 60 year old Isabella pretend to be 40 then this potential hot mess.

I'd rather see her in the Marilyn Monroe biopic.

No. I like Jessica Chastain, but she's just not Ingrid Bergman. Get a lesser known.
Speaking of Jessica Chastain, I saw the trailer for Zookeeper's Wife and it sounded like she was trying to rip off Meryl Streep's Sophie's Choice accent.

Who knows, though; she has so many projects in the pipeline (including the stuff she's producing herself) that it'll take a while before this happens. I'd also be game to see Ferguson in the lead.

This just seems like a wrong-headed project from the start.

I'm furious over this. It really should've been Rebecca Ferguson. She looks more like Bergman than any other working actress and is Swedish and I believe would capture her essence better than anyone. She's also not overexposed in a way that would cloud the role. I really like Chastain but she's all wrong for this (and also fucking Marilyn Monroe she was attached too).

...seriously?
Chastain is a solid actress but what an absurdly poor casting choice.
