Watched this video earlier that gives some great insight into the possible flaws with the project and the sub. He seems to come to the conclusion that they are most likely already dead. Although apparently banging was heard for some 30 minutes? Truly harrowing stuff.

even if they locate the sub hauling it back to the surface is virtually impossible. Very tragic story. I wonder what the legal fallout will be re: OceanGate creating and okaying that jury-rigged piece of crap.
rush (the ceo of oceangate) sounded like an absolute loon with his past comments. saying stuff like there shouldn’t be much training to drive the submarine and that the safety protocols they had to go through were overbearing. what’s surprising is those logitech controllers are apparently a standard for high tech shit.
what a complete nightmare though. if they’re still alive, that’d be one of the worst ways to go. stuck in a cramp area with 4 other people 10000+ feet below the ocean (assuming they’re on the sea floor) with depleting oxygen. especially for that father and son.
In all seriousness, Cameron's Titanic film is why people are still fascinated by the fate of RMS Titanic. If not for the film most people wouldn't care much about a shipwreck that happened a hundred years ago much less spend $250k to visit it at the depths of the ocean.
