I think it knew, deep down, the controversy that would arise. And just so you know: de Armas was actually eighth. |

The only performance I love out of this lineup is Catherine Clinch (though I'm missing 3 out of 7). Do you find this an exceptionally strong year for lead actress? I feel like in other years Blanchett, Ronan, Ebrahimi etc. would've been nominated. |

IMO Clinch and Watson are great and are the only two out of this lot who would make my lineup, Corio and Ebrahimi are good, Riseborough has one great scene, Malanda is fine, and Monaé is ... not my fave. I haven't seen Ronan, Hall, Goth and Russell though. |

that performance deserved a lot more respect and recognition than it got. i thought mescal was great but corio was even better. makes it even crazier that it was a debut performance
