Moved Mulligan to Best Actress in the wake of the Maestro trailer, although I do think there could still be some fuckery there to come.

Auf wiedersehen, Dune: Part Two. Good. Only increases the chances of Air (My pound the table film) and The Bikeriders (my preseason pick) to get into the Best Picture line-up.

I don't think it's getting nominated anyway, but The Bikeriders could very easily get delayed too.

I would wait to see if it places in the top 3 for the audience award. Based on the early reaction I have seen (limited data), people don’t seem to love it as much as Jojo.

I believe JoJo also started out with a rotten score, so I think it will come up, though I never thought this one was going to be a contender anyways.

Jojo started at about 70% on RT and then moved upward. I wouldn’t move Next anywhere just yet.

Netflix just bought Hit Man. Remains to be seen if they release it this year, but I have it in for now.

El Conde just got unceremoniously dumped like Athena did last year. Chile didn't select it, and while it is technically eligible for awards, Netflix clearly doesn't care about it. I'm fine leaving it off. As far as I know, Lee still doesn't have a U.S. distributor. The buzz around Winslet was good but nothing I would deem particularly rapturous. It feels like Ammonite all over again.

You have El Conde listed in your original post and have it under "No Distributor". Netflix is the distributor.

Looks like Bob Marley: One Love is a 2024 release... and an early one at that. Gonna put that in the "orange" column until further notice.

Thanks. I am putting together a post for our October early bird best picture predictions. Trying to include some wildcards. The SAG and WGA strikes have made the list a bit tricky. It would be a bit foolhardy to release it this year, considering Colman Domingo is a contender for both lead and supporting categories, and if A24 thinks they want to run any sort of campaign for him, they don't want to run the risk of vote-splitting. I am waiting for AFI to announce before I shunt a lot of the not-seen films to 2024, but it's a very good bet that most of them here that haven't been screened aside from The Color Purple and Napoleon are getting released next year.
