Great writeups on Alien and Aliens! I haven't seen the third film, but from what you have written, it sounds like a very troubled and troubling film.

^^^ Yeah count me in on being a member of the small group of loving Alien3 as well haha. Peter Travers called it "bold & haunting". I agree with him and liked the film . Yes its depressing and miserable but thats what Fincher was going for imo. Fincher was not fucking around right from the opening (killing off two beloved characters). That takes balls and it pissed off James Cameron royally lol. I think its a great sci fi/horror film featuring some damn good to great performances by Weaver , Charles Sutton & Charles Dance. It also featured this horrifying shot ....  fucking brilliant and nearly shat myself when I saw it for the first time when I was a kid. btw, excellent write ups Ryan . I'll make sure to read more of your stuff in the future. |
