Last minute predix?
Best Film: For some reason, I keep getting a nagging feeling about Top Gun: Maverick here. Best Director: Steven Spielberg, The Fabelmans Best Actor: Colin Farrell, The Banshees of Inisherin Best Actress: Cate Blanchett, TAR Best Supporting Actor: Judd Hirsch, The Fabelmans Best Supporting Actress: Dolly De Leon, Triangle of Sadness Best Original Screenplay: The Banshees of Inisherin Best Adapted Screenplay: Women Talking Best Ensemble: Glass Onion Best Foreign Language Film: RRR Best Documentary: All the Beauty and the Bloodshed Best Animated Feature: Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio Best Cinematography: Top Gun: Maverick
(There is a very good chance I get all of these wrong.)

If I had to guess I would say either Maverick (may just be me hanging on a Fury Road comparison though) and The Fablemans.
Could go high brow though and pick Tar or Banshees.
These aren’t as fun or as funny this year because WB has nothing and no Eastwood.

I'm guessing The Fablemans. I would like a Tom Cruise win here...please.

So happy for Maverick. Really is going to be this years Fury Road. RRR making the top ten and All Quiet winning adapted is pretty rad.

so is Top Gun our cinematography frontrunner or what. Yeah, these early groups are certainly making a push for it. It might as well become one since there's no super-obvious achievement this year like 1917 or Gravity. It's not really poetic cinematography or anything like that but it is a good-looking movie with its golden palette and impressive flight scenes, and if the studio campaigns for it by emphasizing the use of cameras within cockpits Miranda can totally get his second statuette.

Looks like Brendan was a fake frontrunner. He keeps getting snubbed. I think so. He’s at best #3 after Farrell and Butler

Looks like Brendan was a fake frontrunner. He keeps getting snubbed. Well, it's the season itself that tells us who the frontrunners are so technically Fraser was never one in the first place.

He should be winning something but Colin is slamdunking over him at the moment. When we start to get to awards where there are five nominees and he misses then I think he's done.

When we start to get to awards where there are five nominees and he misses then I think he's done. I think the perceived frontrunner nominees are probably too thin overall for him to likely miss. There would have to be multiple surges from unexpected nominees for that to happen really. As even if Fraser seems weak right now, Jackman seems much weaker. Additionally, although this is great news for Farrell and he could join the likes of Casey Affleck and Forrest Whittaker (who won both NBR and NYFCC then won Oscar), there also have been those who won both then lost Oscar (George Clooney - Up in the Air, Robert De Niro - Awakenings). So let's not jump to conclusions *too* quickly.

Elvis missing the Top 10, and Butler losing to Farrell is pretty surprising. NBR usually has a pretty strong link with WB.

Yes, I expected Butler or the film to win something big because of the WB connection. Maybe that’s another good sign for Farrell; although it’s still early, and he could start to lose once the televised awards start. As for Fraser, while I think he’s still nominated, I don’t see him winning now like I did after reading about The Whale’s reception at Toronto. Narrative will only go so far.
