I might have to keep looking for The General in some real dark places because all my reliable sources were not successful. Are we sure that's an actual movie ? Check your inbox

Very cool lineups overall. Happy for the Opposite of Sex girls, but the film should have been nominated for best original screenplay, because the script is its greatest asset. Also sad that Rachel Griffiths didn't make it, but I knew this could happen, because 1998 was such a strong year for Best Actress (I wouldn't be surprised if I had been her only vote). Still, it might be the category where most of my personal nominees also made it here. I have very mixed feelings about Happiness, I think it will always be one of those that I admire more than I love, but that Ensemble Cast nomination is more than deserved, as are the nominations for Baker and Adams. I liked but didn't love The Big Lebowski, but it's nice seeing Bridges and Goodman in there somewhere. I also voted for them. Not a big fan of Saving Private Ryan. I saw it not many years ago, but apart from that opening scene, nothing else stuck, and that's never a good sign with me. American History X, Central Station and The Truman Show are great. I voted for the three of them in Best Picture, glad they all made it. Haven't seen Dark City and The Thin Red Line yet. Will try to before voting. Great work, Martin Stett , and thanks for doing this
