On November 4th, Apple will be releasing this psychological drama, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Brian Tyree Henry and Jayne Houdyshell. It is directed by Lila Neugebauer. She directed an episode of Netflix's Maid and the Tony award-winning play, The Waverly Gallery. The screenplay is by Elizabeth Sanders, Luke Goebel and Ottessa Moshfegh.
Lawrence plays Lynsey, a war veteran struggling to adjust back to civilian life in New Orleans after suffering from a traumatic brain injury while deployed in Afghanistan. She ends up striking a friendship with a mechanic named James played by Henry.
The reception for the film has been quite good. 86% on the Tomatometer. IMDB users gave the film a 7.5/10 rating. The main buzz for the film are the performances from Jennifer Lawrence and Brian Tyree Henry.
What do you think of its Oscar chances? Lawrence for Best Actress, and Brian Tyree Henry for Best Supporting Actor (maybe even Best Actor)? How about screenplay, cinematography, directing, or picture?

Everyone I know who has seen it irl says Henry could - and several say should - win.......I don't know about any nods tbh - A24 isn't great with multiple campaigns - or even 1 campaign tbh - and their attention will be elsewhere.......this doesn't seem like a tech player (?)
