Damn....I mean, we all knew this was coming, but it felt like he'd still try to make it to at least one more Grand Slam (ie Wimbledon 2023) before hanging it up!
Have a great retirement Roger! Not the GOAT as many expected him to finish his career (for now that is Nadal) but one of the greatest players of all time and top 3 in his era 👏

Great player and I would predict that Nadal will announce his retirement at some point in 2023 also..... You can argue the "big 3" very much like I argue American GOAT actors - most Grand Slam wins (or Oscar nominations / wins Nadal / Nicholson) most overall wins or variety (Pacino / Djokovic - although Djokovic will also surpass Nadal in Slams anyway - imo), and who at their best was THE best (Federer for a stretch / De Niro). He certainly played the most beautiful tennis where Djokovic is great but boring and Nadal is great but not effortless like Fed was Thanks for the many great memories  |

Glad our Swiss got the Swiss scoop. It's so sad his knee apparently just does not want to play ball, because the fucking Laver Cup is no way to go out, but that now becomes a must-see event, and those tickets all of a sudden don't seem obscenely expensive  |

Fyi SATANadal drops out of Laver Cup for "personal reasons" - so they only played that one match which was nice Djokovic destroys Tiafoe who beat Nadal in 4 sets at US Open (um, yeah) - 6-1, 6-3 - and it wasn't that close and he hadn't played in 2 and 1/2 months playing doubles right now too with Berrettini (!) and a singles match tomorrow .... Fed providing coaching advice to Djoko which was kind of fun to see .... |

Not the same Djoko today and his forearm looks hurt or his wrist - probably from playing doubles and singles yesterday but especially the doubles - so if he loses to FAA which he probably will - down a set AND down a break - it will be necessary for Tsitsipas and Ruud to win their matches to give Federer a victorious Laver Cup farewell....
