Let's keep this series going! Please PM me with a list of your Top-25 of the decade and those will be tabulated and presented in order decreasing from 100 to 1, you get it. Please send a shorter list if you feel you haven't seen enough or the decade just isn't for you, the more voices the better. Eligible films will be any movie released from January 1st, 1940-December 31st, 1949.

Deadline will be January 20th, 2023 with the right to change.

Think I've seen just enough to put a decent ballot together, but should hopefully watch more before the deadline.

My main FYCs for now: the films of Preston Sturges and the immaculate '40s run of Powell & Pressburger.

Unlike the 50s when Europe and Japan were living a cinamatic Renaissance, and probably I haven't seen or remember (that's clearly not the same) most of the films. The 40s is the easiest because there are almost all US studio movies.-
