Found a hooker's dead body in the garage - j / k This is a first right - ex-President getting an FBI raid? Hmmmmmmm The FBI has searched the Mar-a-Lago home of Donald Trump, the former president said in a statement.
“They even broke into my safe,” Trump said on Monday in a lengthy statement describing it as a “raid.”
It was not immediately clear why the agents were present at Mar-a-Lago, but he said it was “under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents.” www.politico.com/news/2022/08/08/trump-fbi-maralago-search-00050442

there's no way they would do this if they didn't have something big.

Republican base gonna be energized now, should’ve saved this one for after midterms. But yes, please put Trump’s ass in jail and clear the way for DeSantis. Trump should be extra mad at whoever put Christopher Wray in charge of the FBI!

Will be interesting to see how DeSantis handles this going forward. This is happening in his backyard so the expectation is he won’t be on the sidelines as this goes down. First real big test for him in that regard when it comes to maneuvering through national politics. Couple that with him going on tour to prop up some governor and senate candidates around the country in the next few weeks and he’s in great position to really elevate his profile outside of Florida. He’s gotta find a way to let Trump go down but also make it look like he at least tried to save him

He's fncking done. pacinoyes sarcastic humor ^.......at this stage he must be thinking "just don't blow getting the nomination" his literal campaign message could be: "I'm 43, I'm sentient and I was home on January 6th"

Chayney inherite power by abdication. And she will be dead politically when Dick pass away.- Apparently they don't find anything, even if he has something to hide, and even Trump is probably one of the most egomaniac guys in history, he will not hide in his house (He is not that moron). There is more probably hidden things in Ivana grave than in Trump Florida Mansion.-

The GOP is arguing that Biden was behind the raid. For some "reason", they "conveniently forgot" that Christopher Wray is the FBI Director. Guess who appointed Wray as FBI leader? (you get one guess).

But no, he had to mislead his supporters and unsuccessfully file over 86 lawsuits.

"Former Justice Department prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, who worked on special counsel Robert Mueller's team, explained on MSNBC that if he was advising a client facing what former President Donald Trump is, there would be a strong warning. But it was former acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal who took it a step further. "If I were Donald Trump's lawyer right now, thank God I'm not, I would be advising my client to be telling [their] family, 'I am looking at jail time, and we should make plans accordingly,'" said Katyal. After House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., threatened Attorney General Merrick Garland, Weissmann said that he should just keep his head down and keep doing his job. "That is such a palpably false statement, the comment from Mr. McCarthy that he has seen enough," said Weissmann. "One of the things that none of us has seen is the warrant, an application to the court. It's very important to remember this was not a break-in, this was not a raid, this was not the attorney general of the United States deciding willy-nilly on his own that he was going to do the search. A court had to approve the search here based on, as you point out Lawrence, evidence. The evidence had to show that there was probable cause of a crime. That is the way our judicial system works, and that is what happened here." Link

This dumbass suppressed his own vote by saying the democrats were gonna steal the election both in the lead up to the November election and the Georgia runoff. If you’re a Trump supporter and the man himself is saying the democrats are gonna cheat and steal the election, then what’s the point of going out to vote on Election Day?

All this over alleged confidential documents? It doesn't sound that big a deal tbh... I'm trying to think about how moderates will be seeing this. I worry Trump might get a popularity buzz re. 2019 impeachment unless it's a really big deal... The narrative on the far right (which is most of the right atm let's be real) has always and will always be that Trump is the victim, that the Deep State/Swamp is persecuting him, but unless this is a big deal that narrative might be palatable to MAGA-adjacent useful idiots. If the DOJ is going to search Mar-a-Lago in such a dramatic fashion, I just really hope they're ready to fucking bury his fat orange ass because if they're not, this blows up in everyone's faces.

I’m glad you guys are aware of the possible optics of this because….yea you guys are absolutely right. If your FBI guys don’t have something big on Trump then they’d better make some shit up. Wouldn’t be the first time they’ve fabricated crimes. Now that they broke into his house like this they have no choice but to take him out. Not only are the optics bad like we’ve all agreed on but they’re creating a much more dangerous Trump who’ll really be out for vengeance
Nahhh lol I’m just trying to scare you guys. You will never have to worry about a “more dangerous” Trump because this incompetent buffoon will never learn from his mistakes! He’ll just appoint another Christopher Wray at every level of the bureaucracy

Took damn near 35 years (longer than that, actually) for these useless republicans to finally come around to this position. Too bad it took their god being raided for them to come around, but it’s something. This board could really use a Ron Paul appreciation thread! There must be something really special about the name Ron for a politician. Best two politicians of my lifetime (and two of the only good ones period) - Ron Paul and Ron DeSantis
