After Kristen Stewart's definitive portrayal, we now have the definitive documentary? Will you be watching on August 13th?

Yeah I'm definitely watching this.It feels like it will be a bit more hard hitting than most Diana docs.

I'll probably tune in. Sort of tapped out on Diana content but I like that this is made up of only archival footage. Of course you can only get so much from headlines and news anchors but maybe that's the goal of the doc. Not to understand Diana herself but to probe how the public perceived her and how the media covered her. I like that idea.

So, I didn't find this particularly innovative or illuminating, but I certainly enjoyed watching it.
This is an interesting companion piece:

This was pretty boring actually,it didn't offer any new insights. It did hit me how insanely young she was when she died though.Just 36,jesus.

This is an interesting companion piece: thanks for sharing this! Had no idea it existed. Never heard Hitchens mention Diana anywhere to my recollection so this is a very pleasant surprise indeed

Tommen_Saperstein - British historian David Starkey (an asshole, but an entertaining one) similarly believes that the behavior of the British public can be divided historically between a pre- and post-Diana chronology. It’s fascinating to think about her effect.
