Would both probably be considered Hollywood's leading 'sex symbols' right now, though more importantly they are both very talented actresses who are making really strong choices with their careers. I think Robbie has had longer - and therefore more opportunities - to prove herself, and her best performance (I, Tonya) ranks higher for me than anything yet done by de Armas. I am gonna give Ana the slight edge though. She has a real charisma and versatility, delightful fun in films like Knives Out and No Time to Die, utterly haunting in Blade Runner 2049 and the little we've seen of Blonde.

I personally prefer de Armas. Robbie's great, though.

Robbie. She seems like a basic hot blonde at first but when she's on she's really, really good. I've been surprised by her several times already.

Right now it's Robbie, but that's partly due to her having a more diverse set of performances under her belt. Blonde might give De Armas the push she's needed to reach those heights.

Unpopular opinion time, but I've never thought AdA was better than okay in anything and a lot of the hype is just from internet bros because she's hot. Never seen her give performances as good as I, Tonya, Bombshell, or even Harley Quinn despite the quality of those movies. Maybe that changes with Blonde.

I like them both but Margot has started to feel a bit samey to me over the last few years. She nearly always uses the same Brooklyn accent and I'm not sure she's got as much range as I first thought.

Personally, I find it a bit unfair to compare these two as yet cuz of the time difference in their starts in Hollywood, especially since Ana has additionally been having to go against the stream of such systemic racism as recently expressed by that Jamie Lee Curtis statements on her. In fact considering all that, she has done extremely well for herself which speaks for her talent in and of itself, outside the meaty quality of the roles she has been able to get.

Ana de Armas had a larger career, just started in Cuba. Then she moved to Spain where she married an actor of a aristocratic family, then she get divorce and moves to Hollywood. During her Spaniard career she had great success in TV Series (El Internado, Hispania, Carlos Rey Emperador) but zero luck on films. In fact when she llave the leading role in El Internado. Blanca Suarez replaced in the lead (with another character) and none misses her. In fact Suarez was cast as lead femele in many interesting film rolesvin Spain. So definitive is what people usually thinks it's a beautiful and charismatic but an avarage actress. Not good enought for the 7th Art. And then she was casted in a couple of Hollywood indie movies, that none paid attention. And then she was the muse of Blade Runner 2049. Ok she was pretty for the role. That could tell to her grandchildren one, day I made a big budget Hollywood film. But then receive acclaim for Knives Out. And all we get shocked.
So who is better. I want to see a couple more De Armas films to rate both.-
Margot Robbie I have no idea who she was before Marty film. I guess she was a soap opera star. And then she got nominated for a film that her husband produced. And then she was nominated again.- I havent seen any of Robbie Oscar nom films. In the others sometimes looks like a fun, interesting and promising actress, in others a little dull (Tarzan, Thevwill Smith one)

What a great comparison - I feel the exact same way about both of them. Both very very overhyped and lucky af in their careers because of how hot and young they were when they got started. Landed the right “big” roles early in their film careers with huge co stars and then bam, soared. Both of them have some acting chops, charisma, chemistry w the right actors etcetc but I think they’re both so over used.
Armas has more natural charisma and screen presence. Robbie has worked longer?and gotten better, so has higher highs thus far imo.

Robbie probably has more raw talent but I'd like to see her do more than chaotic vixens and femme fatales. Her roles are too similar from Harley Quinn to Tonya Harding to Babylon to probably Barbie it's the same manic energy all the time. Bombshell is weirdly her best. I'd like to see her go in another direction acting-wise.
I'm not sure how much range de Armas has yet. Blonde was pretty terrible.

It's objectively Robbie. Anyone saying otherwise is allowing their nether regions to decide for them...
