Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is now the 15th installment of the MCU, which is now 9 years old. Of all the 15 MCU films, which are you favorites?

Thor and I'm probably gonna be the only one I just loved the humor, the romance, the villain was great and the visuals very cool. Just an entertaining film all around

None of these movies are particularly impressive, but I'll go with Iron Man.

The only ones that stand out AT ALL are Captain America and Guardians of the Galaxy. It's a tough call between the two, but I think I'll side with Cap. No, Guardians. Hmm. Cap.

Cap: Winter Soldier. It honestly didn't feel like a superhero movie but an old spy film; this one stands apart from the rest

Captain America: The Winter Soldier for me. It's the one I go back the most anyway. AOU is quite underrated though.

Guardians Vol. 1. The closest we really have to a modern day Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Honorable mentions to Avengers and Guardians Vol. 2.

Captain America : The Winter Soldier is my favorite. Mainly because of the supporting cast and the fact that it plays out more like a political thriller than a mindless comic book film. The action is flat out thrilling and intense (the attack on Nick Fury , the reveal of the Winter Soldier ...I mean holy shit!). I could have done without a bunch of Black Widow's lame one liners but it is what it is. Overall this was a lot of fun and Evans rocked in this . 8/10
Least favorite? LOL where do I begin??? I have numerous problems with the MCU movies . Mainly because Kevin Feige won't give a director total control over their films. IMO it would benefit things in the long run and make things much interesting . For example, Jon Favreau on IM 2. Edgar Wright on Ant Man . Let these gentlemen make their vision !!!
IM2, IM3 both sucked ass. Thor 2 sucked ass. Ant Man sucked ass. Doctor Strange sucked ass.
Please do not confuse me for a MCU hater though. I will be seeing GotG Vol2 in theaters for sure this weekend (gotta love baby Groot) . And I like the Cap films overall but they need to take more risks imo. Here's hoping Black Panther blows our minds. I have high hopes for that film

If we're talking favourite, then I have to go with Thor, as it's the most fun and re-watchable.

15. The Incredible Hulk - Terrible movie.
14. Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 - Starts off terribly, it's attempts to make 3D happen are lame, but it eventually grows into a pretty tremendous familial drama. Shame at least half the movie is a woeful attempt to capture the original's magic.
13. Iron Man 2 - Pretty inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, but I loved all the Howard Stark backstory stuff, and it's a generally entertaining watch.
12. The Dark World - It's not GREAT, but Hiddleston and Dennings are both an absolute riot, and carry it above the three below it. The Thor-Loki double team also helped make it.
11. The Winter Soldier - I really do not care for this film. Maybe it was just the hype that killed it for me, but entertaining a watch as it is, it's a mindless action film first and foremost and anything else comes in a distant second. exposition/actionscene/exposition/actionscene repeat ad nauseum. Lacks all of the original films flavour. Putting Redford in there does not a 70s political thriller make it.
--Takes a step up here to stuff I like with far less reservations--
10. Ant-Man - Most of these movies rise or fall for me based on the cast, and the strength of the human element. What's left here after Edgar Wright's departure is pretty vanilla, but the cast are so triumphant that they make it.
09. Age of Ultron - It's gloominess (visual and thematic) definitely robs it off the triumphant fun factor that the first one had (which was found again in Civil War) but I still think this is an underrated film, where once again the emphasis on the actors lends it enough weight to make it worthwhile.
--Takes another step up here--
08. Doctor Strange - Yes, in a lot of ways it's basically a retread of Iron Man, but the visual element elevates it, as do the shades of grey within which all the characters exist, and the pretty comprehensive way in which it explores the varying sides behind the psychology of the superhero.
07. Civil War - Gorgeous, near perfect exercise in blockbuster filmmaking. Finds the perfect balance between the triumphant entertainment of the first Avengers film and the desire to do things darker that nearly derailed Age of Ultron.
06. The Avengers - I do wonder how well it would work if you hadn't watched any of the films that built up to it, but having seen them this is (and continues to be on rewatch) just one of the most riotously entertaining movies ever made, where the banter between the performers, the expert way in which they use the Hulk, and the finales focus on the individual plebs caught up in the madness turn it into something special.
--These are all awesome--
05. Thor 04. Iron Man 03. Iron Man 3 02. Guardians of the Galaxy 01. The First Avenger

Guardians of the Galaxy and the Captain America movies are the only MCU films that I'd consider to be approaching legitimate greatness. The first Iron Man is pretty damn good too, and was a good starting point for this entire franchise. Everything else ranges from passable entertainment (Avengers 1 and 2, Thor) to bland mediocrity (Iron Man 2, The Dark World).
Haven't seen GOTG2 yet.

Guardians of the Galaxy and the first Iron Man are the only ones that truly rise above a level of average to decent, but I'm still surprised by how strong all three of the Captain America films have been.
