I just found out that Uma Thurman got married to Gary Oldman when she was 20 (after her boyfriend Director brought her on the State of Play set and introduced them, lol) and am still utterly shocked at this discovery.

Hello everyone. :hello: Hope you guys are doing well. Sorry I was not active here much, I missed this place and some people. Had so much going on in life. Big life news.. I got engaged!! It's the first love marriage in the family and it took a whole lot of convincing to them but it was quite fun ngl π
Can't believe I'm 27 already, time fucking flies. π Movie wise, I saw a whole lot of Kurosawa and Satyajit Ray (was in my bucket list for so long so I'm glad to finish those off). Loved their works.

I saw a whole bunch of Ray films too last year since it was his 100th birth anniversary, such an amazing artist. Sadly didn't keep up with Kurosawa, I gotta get back to his filmography this year hopefully.

πππ Hope you're doing great as well and your exams are going fine too. Ray's films are so humanistic and his characters are always so real, so flawed yet highly relatable. His movies are all heart. Such a great artist. Tell me your favorite of his? I loved Charulata so much. I think it's his best. Recently saw Devi and damn it was chilling in its portrayal of blind faith esp. in our country how it still happens.

Charulata is still definitely a Top 5 Ray for me.

Mon - Fri: itβs pulling teeth to wake my son up at 6:30am and get him out of bed and ready for kindergarten.
Sat/Sun: my son is in my bedroom at 5:45am full of energy ready to start his day.
WITHOUT FAIL

I've been posting since 2006 on IMDb and then here... all that time, there's only one poster I've ever had a problem with. He's called me racist ( ) and recently said that not only was my opinion about a movie wrong but so wrong 'I must have no concept of the craft of movies and acting.' Imagine seriously saying that to someone?? He must've been a bit ashamed of the post bc he deleted it a few minutes later but I'm sure he meant it. To the bitterest member of the board (poor guy thinks the world is out to get him) there's a reason I've ignored you for years, and will continue to. But I never said goodbye! Have a nice day.

Was thinking about Along Came Polly and, well, can we crowdfund a version of Crocodile Tears (the fake movie with Philip Seymour Hoffman as a child actor) and cast Cooper Hoffman in it?

I somehow got a blister in the calloused part of my heel (didn't know that was even possible) and I can't drain the fucker because the safety pin won't penetrate the skin.

Happy to announce that I got an interview for a real job lined up. No more hourly wage temp work. Can't even begin to express how pumped I am because fucking finally god damn. It's been a looooong 2 years of putting the job search on hold while I tackle the biggest mistake of my life, grad school. But thanks to having just the right experience, just the right credentials and a sprinkle of nepotism we are here fucking finally, 2 years and a few failed applications later. Damn near fucking screamed in the backyard after I got off the phone with the recruiter

I just had a dream in which Burt Reynolds starred in a trilogy of sleazy 80's exploitation sci-fi movies as a private detective who goes around seedy dives cutting up guys and forcing women until they fall victim to his rugged manliness.
Also, his dick is a literal six shooter.
I woke up right when he began a contest with the sleazy businessman villain to see who could, uh, "hip fire" faster and more accurately (Burt was also getting key plot details from said sleazy businessman, who knew full well that Burt was the hero of the story but also knew that Burt was an amoral thug).
I just got a peek into a different universe, and I will stop at nothing to bridge the gap.
