Not bad for Morbius at all. The Marvel name made a decent amount of people interested in it. I expect terrible WOM to sink it, though.

Marvel need to be real careful how much they let Sony associate with their core films, because they bring down the quality level of the brand. The Venom movies are average at best, and this one seems to be a critical bust. Sony are a cash grab studio. Because they have the rights to Spider-Man and his associated supporting cast and villains, they just want to make as much money out of that license as possible. Sony feels like a studio that was making comic book projects in the 1990's or early 2000's. They are in it for the cash. Too many of these projects have no reason to exist, other than they have they rights to the characters and think being associated with Spider-Man is a license to print money. I mean, who asked for a Madam Web movie starring Dakota Johnson?

Morbius is well on its way to beat Endgame's opening record and I expect good legs to get it to The Force Awakens's all-time record. Best Picture win at the Oscars 2023 incoming! All other Oscar hopefuls need to give up campaigning, there's no way you can beat The Great and Almighty Morbius.
/s, of course

I mean remember that planned Aunt May spy movie prequel?! Also for some reason Avi Arad is really obsessed with doing the Sinister Six onscreen, hence why we're getting a Kraven movie in addition that announced Madam Web film.

Fairly frontloaded for Morbius. Not a great sign.

I guess in a way it's not terrible for Morbius, if only because Sony kept the budget low, still I don't expect good legs. Terrific start for Everywhere Everywhere All At Once.
